Chapter 410: Terrible Habits
Chapter 410: Terrible Habits
"Don’t rush, isn’t there still the old lady in the Lewis Family? She’s probably going to fight with all her might to ensure the company doesn’t fall into Evan Lewis’s hands."Austin Winters certainly wouldn’t let Cherry Lewis go so easily. As long as she’s in his hands, he has leverage.
"Where is your cousin Zoe Lewis? My people couldn’t find her."
"What are you looking for her for?"
Cherry Lewis sat up, curled up in the corner of the sofa, feeling both hatred and fear towards Austin Winters, not daring to play any tricks: "Some time ago, Isabella Weaver had her kidnapped to threaten me, but I didn’t care."
Austin Winters looked surprised. Isabella Weaver kidnapped Zoe Lewis? Was it during the time when Amy Winters was kidnapped?
That damned Winters Seal, not telling him!
"You fool! Zoe Lewis is crucial now; she’s Evan Lewis’s only daughter! You didn’t even try to rescue her!"
Austin Winters felt more pain in his chest. Why does Harry Hunter’s side have all the competent people, not a single one dragging behind, while his side has one stupidity after another!
...
At six o’clock in the morning, Harry Hunter was still asleep, but his phone kept ringing.
He picked it up to see it was the old lady calling.
He immediately hung up, cuddling his soft little wife and continued to sleep.
But the old lady was relentless, not only did she call, but the doctors and nurses caring for her took turns calling him, and later even Ben Hunter called him.
Harry Hunter knew if he didn’t answer, the calls would never stop.
He was afraid it would disturb Isabella Weaver, so he got up, put on his robe, and walked out of the bedroom to answer the phone.
"What’s wrong?"
"The old lady is ill, quite seriously. Young Master Hunter, you better come and see her! She keeps mentioning your name!"
Harry Hunter frowned, hung up the phone, and went to change clothes.
He was dressed in a suit, put on his watch, returned to the bedroom, gently kissed Isabella Weaver, and was about to leave when a snow-white arm like a lotus root reached out from the covers and grabbed him.
"Where are you going?"
"Just going back to the old house for a bit, you get some more sleep."
Harry Hunter tugged at the thin blanket to cover her exposed shoulder.
He touched her head, confirming she didn’t have a fever anymore, and then left.
Isabella Weaver lay on the comfortable big bed, tossing and turning, but couldn’t sleep.
The bed still retained Harry Hunter’s warmth and scent, but without him physically there, she was quite unaccustomed to it.
Usually, he would get up with her, help her freshen up, and have breakfast with her.
Habits are terrifying; in such a short time, she had become so dependent on him!
He merely went out early in the morning, yet she felt an empty void inside.
Unable to sleep, she got up, freshened up, and prepared to go to work.
Keeping busy would prevent her from thinking about him and provide her a sense of security.
Connor’s arm still wasn’t healed, so he sat in the passenger seat, while David drove, and Harry Hunter sat in the back reviewing the company’s latest documents needing attention.
In the past two days, Star Region Group’s stock price has plummeted significantly, affecting various businesses under its umbrella. Star Region Mall’s sales dropped to a historical low, and Star Region Cinemas suffered heavy losses; the film they had invested in just got premiered and faced mass boycott. Star Region’s high-end hotels were also frosty, the least affected being Star Region Estates, although its profits were on the decline.
After reviewing the domestic business report, Harry Hunter flipped through the international business section, fortunately noticing that international business was mostly unscathed.
Additionally, the companies under his personal name were also unaffected—as his personal investments were publicly without using either his or Star Region’s name.
