Chapter 382: Little Beggar Connor
Chapter 382: Little Beggar Connor
Connor didn’t know what was happening; hearing this sentence, he almost burst into tears. He followed closely behind Harry Hunter, and replied with a firm voice, "Never, Young Master, I will always be by your side!"
Where could he go if he left Harry Hunter?
He was born abroad and abandoned by his parents at a very young age, left wandering, surviving on begging and picking up trash.
In his tough and complicated environment, he honed his fighting skills, caught someone’s eye, and was taken to an underground fight club to earn money for them.
The club had many kids like him, barely clothed and barely fed, each more ferocious than the next.
Yet, in just half a year, he fiercely fought his way through thousands of children, he defeated everyone regardless of age, no one could beat him!
He won the championship and was ushered into a brand-new life—Ben Hunter paid an astronomical price to buy him.
He never knew he could be worth so much, as the club always kept them locked up like dogs, he always thought he was worth less than a dog.
Then, he met Harry Hunter and became his shadow.
He got new, respectable clothing, enough food, a car, a villa.
He was no longer that little beggar who had to fight viciously for a mere sleeping spot.
He even had a pretty, cute girlfriend.
Now, when he ventured out, people knew he was Harry Hunter’s most trusted aide. People from the underground respected him as "Master Connor," dared not offend him easily, some even sought his favor.
Connor was a man of gratitude, thankful to Ben Hunter, thankful to Harry Hunter, he had no other way to repay them but with his loyal heart.
However, Harry Hunter’s current bad mood was beyond his ability to resolve.
Harry Hunter hadn’t been like this for a long time, since his marriage.
"Young Master, are you going to drink? The Royalton Club has reopened, Jeremy Duff mentioned you might want to check it out a couple of days ago!"
Drinking?
Harry Hunter thought for a moment, it seemed like such distant past.
"Alright, let’s go take a look."
The original building of the Royalton Club had been destroyed by an explosion, relocated to another building, replicating its old decor, even the corridor arrangements matched.
As Harry Hunter walked in, it felt like he was back at the moment he first met Isabella Weaver.
He entered a private room, ordered his drink, then a young, pretty attendant wearing a uniform came in pushing a cart with trays of fruit and popcorn.
Seeing the attendant serving with downcast eyes, Harry Hunter felt a bit nostalgic for Isabella Weaver.
The door of the private room opened again, a handsome man in a suit led a group of flamboyant hostesses inside, bowed respectfully to Harry Hunter, "Young Master Hunter, see if any catch your eye?"
Harry Hunter didn’t glance at any of them; he focused on the person in front of him, slightly furrowing his brow, "Jeremy?"
"It’s me, Young Master Hunter, it’s been a long time since you last visited!"
Connor stared in shock, "Is that you, Jeremy?"
Jeremy Duff touched his head, smiled smugly, "Yes, don’t you recognize me anymore?"
"Fatty Duff! Where’s all your weight?"
Connor could recognize his voice but couldn’t connect this face with the old chubby look!
Jeremy Duff was now very slim, his face almost half of its previous size!
Connor reached out to pinch Jeremy Duff’s belly, then exclaimed, "Wow, you actually have abs! Fatty Duff, what kind of shock did you experience?"
