After a Contractual Marriage, Little Taotie Went Viral!

Chapter 466 - 453: Surprise

Chapter 466 - 453: Surprise

Qin Yun wasn’t very good at it, and her face ended up covered in sticky notes.Tang Jun was the most excited; every time Qin Yun lost, he volunteered to stick the notes on her. "Hey, Yunyun, this look is particularly unique. Don’t worry, your big brother won’t go easy on you!"

His smugness made Pei Yan frown as he leaned in and whispered to Qin Yun, "Need me to help you play?"

Qin Yun looked at him, "Can you?"

Pei Yan shook his head. He’d never played this way before, but the rules weren’t too hard; after watching a few rounds, he’d already figured it out.

Qin Yun gave up her seat, "You go ahead then."

Pei Yan began to join in the battle.

Lu Nuannuan, Sun Junheng, and Qin Yun watched from the side.

Pei Yan called the landlord; Tang Jun and Tang Zi exchanged a look and burst into laughter.

Qin Yun glanced at Pei Yan’s cards and couldn’t help but smile too.

To be fair, Pei Yan’s luck was truly great, much better than hers!

He started off with a bomb, and when picking bottom cards, he picked up another bomb.

Four Aces, four twos, and a Joker, followed by a quad-plane.

"This..."

If she’d known sooner, she would have let Pei Yan play; then her face wouldn’t have been covered with so many notes.

Tang Jun suddenly suggested, "How about we stop playing for sticky notes and add some stakes?"

Pei Yan nodded, "Sure."

Tang Zi also nodded.

The three continued.

Pei Yan went first, leaving both Tang Zi and Tang Jun unable to play; he then threw out a Joker.

Tang Jun and Tang Zi frowned at his cards and both chose to pass.

Pei Yan then dropped four Aces.

Tang Zi and Tang Jun gripped their cards tightly.

"What cards do you have that make us unable to play?"

"Can’t play."

Pei Yan then tossed four twos, casually dropping the line, "I’m done."

Spring!

Pei Yan landed a spring on the two.

Tang Zi and Tang Jun hadn’t played a single card before Pei Yan used up all his cards!

Qin Yun nodded with satisfaction; this was the correct way to play cards!!

Qin Yun immediately stretched out her hand to collect money, "Pay up, pay up!"

Tang Zi and Tang Jun exchanged a glance and had no choice but to admit defeat and pay up.

But they were not convinced and wanted to continue.

However, Pei Yan’s luck was simply too good. He kept getting bombs, and his cards were always excellent, landing several springs on Tang Zi and Tang Jun.

The two refused to give up and brought Sun Junheng on to play a few rounds, but the outcome didn’t change; Pei Yan was winning handsomely and with ease.

Tang Zi stepped down and stood behind Pei Yan with Qin Yun, watching him draw four bombs, shaking his head in exasperation, "How can anyone play like this? Who could stand to play on?"

Everyone else laughed heartily.

The big card game lasted until noon when Pei Yan handed over his winnings to Qin Yun, calling it New Year’s money.

Everyone teased that New Year’s money shouldn’t be given until the evening.

Pei Yan smiled, saying nothing.

The group played until they had lunch.

After a morning together, the two families became even more harmonious, with Tang Chengguo, Tang Chengyu, and Mr. Pei chatting over drinks, while Sun Wan’er and Mrs. Pei, along with Lu Nuannuan, entered a mutual complimenting mode.

The remaining four quietly ate, and after they ate, they grouped up to play again, continuing into the evening.

The main event arrived.

New Year’s Eve, New Year’s dinner.

The Pei Family had prepared many dishes, plus those brought by the Tang Family, making a large table.

In the center of the table, there were two enormous king crabs.

"Thank you everyone for spending New Year’s together and staying up late, hoping everyone will be safe and smooth next year, and wishing for Pei Yan and Qin Yun’s relationship to grow stronger, giving us a chubby grandchild early on."

Mr. Pei said a few brief words and beckoned everyone to eat and drink.

Qin Yun’s eyes lit up, and she rolled up her sleeves, ready to grab the king crab.

But Pei Yan pushed her hands back.

Qin Yun gave Pei Yan a pitiful look, but saw him roll up his own sleeves, fetching a big piece of crab meat, cleaning it up, and placing it into her bowl.

Qin Yun contentedly began eating.

From that moment on, whenever Qin Yun looked at a dish, Pei Yan would pick some for her. Any shrimp or fish requiring prep would be cleaned up before he placed them in her bowl.

The whole family watched, and Mr. Pei and Mrs. Pei smiled contentedly.

Sun Wan’er and Tang Chengguo also nodded continuously.

Their relationship was good, and this was what everyone most liked to see.

However, Tang Jun and Tang Zi became the focus of everyone’s attention.

The two had reached a certain age without finding girlfriends or showing any signs of getting married, and the elders from both families spent quite some time talking to them.

Both felt increasingly hopeless.

Luckily, Tang Chengguo raised his glass to break the awkwardness, "Come, let’s have a toast. Here’s to everyone cherishing those they love in the new year."

"Cheers!"

The New Year’s dinner lasted past ten. Tang Chengguo and Mr. Pei drank a few more glasses and were helped to their rooms to rest.

Meanwhile, Tang Zi, Tang Jun, and Qin Yun slipped into the back garden.

Qin Yun took out her phone and contacted Yuanyuan, "Yuanyuan, are you ready?"

Yuanyuan excitedly held the remote control, nodding enthusiastically, "Sister Yun, I’ve been ready for a while now; we can start anytime."

Earlier that morning, Sister Yun had asked her to find places suitable for setting off fireworks.

She inquired and found a place close to the Pei Family’s home where fireworks could be set off. Immediately she followed Qin Yun’s instructions and ordered two large trucks full of fireworks to the square.

"Wait for my signal."

Qin Yun looked at Tang Zi, "Brother, go get Pei Yan for me."

Tang Zi eyed her, "What are you up to?"

Qin Yun’s face turned a suspicious shade of red, and Tang Zi could tell she must be planning a surprise for Pei Yan and needed help to call him out.

Qin Yun pleaded earnestly, "Brother, please, help me."

It was his first time being asked for help with such affection by his sister, making it impossible for Tang Zi to refuse.

Tang Zi resignedly turned to fetch Pei Yan.

Once Tang Zi’s silhouette had disappeared, Qin Yun hurriedly instructed Tang Jun, "Brother, when Pei Yan comes, have him stand right here, okay?"

Tang Jun nods quietly, watching Qin Yun turn and busy herself for a while.

By the time Tang Zi brought Pei Yan out, Qin Yun was already standing by the garden lights, the glow of the lamps giving her an extraordinarily beautiful appearance.

Pei Yan’s gaze was locked tightly onto her.

The light-hearted music started playing, and Qin Yun began to move.

She was dancing. It was clear she wasn’t very skilled, but it looked harmonious nonetheless.

That turn and flick of her sleeves were deeply etched into Pei Yan’s mind.

As the music ended, Qin Yun was slightly out of breath, raising her hands high above her head, tilting it to form a heart, and excitedly shouted, "Pei Yan, I love you!"

She laughed brightly, her eyes relaxed and cheerful, deeply imprinting onto Pei Yan’s heart.
