Adventures of the last Wild Dragon

Chapter 232 232: Rewards and the Second Floor

Chapter 232 232: Rewards and the Second Floor

The chest opened with neary a whisper, a soft golden light obscuring the contents for a moment until the lid was fully raised. Then 5 beads of golden light suddenly shot up and out of the chest to hover in front of each girl.

The sudden movement surprised them, causing each girl to take a hesitant step backwards. Thankfully thought the golden bead simply hovered in place before them.

"Umm, what?" Rhyana eloquently blurted out.

"Maybe we touch them?" Violet guessed, reaching out as she spoke to gently poke the hovering bead of light with a single finger.

When her finger made contact with the bead it flashed with golden light before the bead began to expand, its shape changing from an indistinct bead to a glass container of some kind.

The golden glow faded away to fully reveal the item before her. It was a simple glass vial, containing a singular violet pill, the pill held veins of utter darkness that strongly reminded Violet of her own void mana. As she stared at it she was surprised when a system screen popped up before her.

[Voids Breath: ease the strain of breathing the void]

She blinked at the description, momentarily confused as to what it meant. Then it suddenly clicked and her eyes opened wide in amazement.

If her guess was correct this oil could help her deal with the strain of using her dragon breath, even now whenever she used it she would severely damage her throat, her body unable to truly interact with void mana when in its raw state.

The other girls upon seeing the shift from golden bead to actual item opened their eyes in amazement. Then without waiting any longer they each reached out and poked their own golden bead.

For Luna her bead expanded into a pair of earrings, they were Arctic blue and resembled compact snow flakes with veins of iridescent colour running through them. Her prompt read.

[Snow Drop Earings: Make the Imaterial, material]

She frowned at that description for a while herself, slightly unsure as to what exactly it meant. However, she soon had a feeling that it would somehow help her when utilising her illusions, in what way she was quite unsure, but was eager to find out exactly how they would be helpful.

Susan received a bracelet that resembled a flowing river, it's aquamarine colour shimmering as if in motion.

[Waters Embrace: Let healing waters flow in a never ending cycle]

For Rhyana she received two gauntlets, they would cover her hands and held raised metal ridges over her knuckles that looked like they could heal some serious damage when striking someone.

[Storm Gauntlets: allow lightning to flow to your foe]

Finally Olivia's head expanded into the biggest item out of everyone's. Her expanded into large wooden shield, its exterior covered in thorn laden vines that seemed to slowly shift in place.

[Natures Bulwark: when the world pushes, nature holds strong]

In terms of the girls new items effects they were varied. Each of them spent some time examining them and testing out their functions, Luna did get Susan to help her pierce her ears for the earrings to fit.

Susan's bracelet seemed to allow her to use her healing skills whilst using much less mana, allowing her to heal greater wounds for a longer amount of time. Something that would no doubt be very useful in the coming fights.

Rhyana's gauntlets were quite simple, effectively working as knuckledusters that bolstered the damage she could deal with her fists. They also allowed her to effectively inject her lightning into whatever she hit with greater ease than before.

Olivia's new shield was a great replacement to the one that she just lost. Even thought it was wooden it was actually sturdier than her previous metal shield. And with it being wooden her nature mana could infuse it with much greater efficiency than ever before.

Luna's earrings were slightly more abstract, it made her illusions slightly more 'real' they lasted for longer and seemed to hold some autonomy now. Enabling Luna to dedicate less focus to controlling them in fights going forwards.

Violets was both the simplest yet also perhaps the most impactful. She quickly ate the pill and felt like her entire throat suddenly became more resilient. She tested out a quick dragon breath and to her amazement found that she hardly even felt any strain.

Not to say that Violet could now blast of dragons breath with no consequences, just that she no longer had to worry about severe injuries every time she used the ability.

All in the girls spent a good half an hour testing out their new items. Soon however they were all mostly done and all very satisfied with what they had received.

Eventually however they stopped with their experiments and turned their attention towards the two portals on either side of the room.

The on on their left showed a familiar cave, it was the cave located at the enterance to the dungeon, they guessed that this was the exit to this place and by walking through that spot they would find themselves back outside of the dungeon.

In the right side was a different portal, this one did now show any scenery, only containing the white light with orange and blue highlights. This portal however seemed to have more blue than orange. They assumed that this portal would lead them to the second floor.

"So we go to the next floor right?" Violet asked the girls, after all it had only been two days whilst they had a full week to explore this place so it made no sense to back out now.

Getting affirmative nods from everyone Violet and the girls all walked forwards and entered through the portal to the next floor.

The now familiar sensation of moving happened, again only lasting for a short moment before the girls found themselves in a shaded glade in a wooded area. Relatively tall trees surrounded them, standing between 10-20 meters high.

They were quite sparsely spread out, so it was quite easy to see between the trunks, the nearest tree a good 5 meters away from its neighbours.

Before they could spend too long observing the scenery around them they were greeted with a quest from the system.

[Welcome to Floor 2 of the Myriad Skies Dungeon.

A Great beast has emerged to lay claim to this forest. Seek it out and slay this threat to the ecosystem.

Threats slain 0/1]

"Ohh this seems simple! We just have to hunt down a single beast! Let's go then!" Violet happily cheered.

Yet her companions all groaned in unison when she said that. Luna even slapping her hand over her face as she muttered. "Why do you always have to say such things! Now it is definitely not going to be simple!"

As of the world was waiting for that moment the ground began to shake and the distant sound of a stampede reached the girls ears, and it was heading directly towards them.
