Chapter 834: I Didn’t, Don’t Make Things Up!

Ji Weitian’s eyes flashed with surprise, looking at Leng Jian in disbelief.

The implication behind his words wasn’t just about asking her how much chance of success she had, but rather a promise to help Qin Nanyu with her.

Ji Weitian’s eyes grew warm.

Seeing her reaction, Leng Jian seemed to realize the impact of his words, and didn’t say anything further. He simply suggested she take the two little ones home and they could talk another day.

He said goodbye himself and proactively got in the car and left.

Ji Weitian snapped back to reality, took her children’s hands again, and started to take them home. Turning around, she suddenly saw Qin Nanyu standing behind her, not knowing how long he had been there, and was taken aback!

"Daddy!"

Little Glutinous Rice Dumpling reacted super fast, toddling over with little legs to Qin Nanyu, hugging his leg.

Ruirui watched his sister leave him behind once again, hesitated for a moment, and chose to stay with his mom.

And so, a bizarre scene unfolded.

Ji Weitian, holding her son’s hand, stood at the entrance of the apartment, at a not too close nor too distant range, looking at Qin Nanyu’s indifferent face and Little Glutinous Rice Dumpling clinging to his leg like an ornament.

"Qin Nanyu, I can explain..."

As soon as Ji Weitian spoke, Qin Nanyu had already bent down to pick up Yaoyao, turning to walk to the elevator.

He had a ’I won’t listen, I won’t listen, don’t say anything’ attitude.

Ji Weitian quickly grabbed Ruirui and jogged to catch up with the elevator. As the elevator closed, she immediately turned to look at Qin Nanyu, "I met Leng Jian to talk about serious matters."

"Daddy doesn’t eat or drink for days?" Little Glutinous Rice Dumpling poked her little head out from Qin Nanyu’s embrace, curiously asking.

Qin Nanyu pushed her little head back, looking righteous, "Don’t listen to your mommy’s nonsense, that’s not true."

The elevator arrived.

Seeing that Qin Nanyu really didn’t seem angry, Ji Weitian quietly sighed in relief.

Qin Nanyu had once talked to her about Dr. CC’s matters, but it was solely to ask her opinion; he never asked her to contact Leng Jian, or to use her relationship with Leng Jian to investigate anything.

Meeting Leng Jian today was Ji Weitian’s own idea.

She wasn’t afraid of Qin Nanyu being jealous and throwing a tantrum, she feared he would get jealous and start self-harming again.

Thus, all night, Ji Weitian tenderly observed his reaction until she saw Qin Nanyu coax the two little ones to sleep, then turned around to block her against the wall in the guest room hallway.

His tall body was like a pine tree, one hand propped against the wall in front of her, making it impossible for Ji Weitian to move. She could only look up at him, "Wh-What is it?"

"I should be asking you that, staring at me all night, what did you see?" Qin Nanyu’s mouth curled slightly, with a tone revealing no emotion.
