Chapter 589: Actually, I Have Another Secret
Chapter 589: Actually, I Have Another Secret
Ji Weitian sat on the bed that had just been made, holding her phone, hesitating whether or not to call him.
She couldn’t quite articulate the feeling in her heart when she thought about the possibility of him moving out without even wanting his luggage. It felt like something was missing, empty.
Even if he were moving out, shouldn’t he at least come back for his belongings and maybe say goodbye?
And he had said that he couldn’t come back to the Qin Family Villa right now. It was so late, and he hadn’t returned; what if something had happened to him... Making a phone call to check seemed quite reasonable.
Before she could make a decision, the doorbell rang.
At first, she thought she was imagining things, especially since she had just given Qin Nanyu a key; if he were returning, he wouldn’t need to knock on the door.
But after a few seconds, she distinctly heard the sound of knocking again.
Regaining her senses, she stepped forward and walked towards the door.
Seeing Qin Nanyu standing outside through the peephole, she hurriedly opened the door.
The moment the door opened, a tall figure embraced her.
Ji Weitian was about to push him away, but suddenly smelled the strong scent of alcohol on him; her brows furrowed, and she wriggled her head out from his embrace to look up at him.
Catching a glimpse of his bleary eyes and flush-red cheeks, just as she was about to say something, she was pushed against the wall in a classic "wall-pin" move.
He didn’t say a word, and like a large dog, he lowered his head and began to sniff her scent.
Finally, he hooked his lips into a mischievous smile and called out to her, "Ji Weitian."
Ji Weitian: "..."
He was drunk.
This was the conclusion Ji Weitian quickly reached.
She couldn’t reason with a drunkard; she still remembered what Qin Nanyu did the last time he was inebriated.
Having learned her lesson, she did not try to reason with him but strenuously helped him inside and then closed the door.
"You need to stand on your own, or I won’t be able to hold you up," Ji Weitian said as she was about to lead him into the room, only to find the person leaning on her wouldn’t move at all. His entire weight was on her, nearly crushing her.
The moment she spoke, Qin Nanyu immediately stood up straight like an obedient child, his captivating eyes staring at her, a touch of appeasement in his gaze.
Ji Weitian felt none of the earlier anger, nor did she realize why seeing him return made her so happy.
So happy that she didn’t kick him out for his drunken rampage, but instead took care of him with utmost patience: helping him into the room, getting clean clothes for him to change into, and then fetching a warm towel to wipe his face.
The entire process was like taking care of a baby.
"Drink some sobering tea before sleep, or you’ll have a headache tomorrow," Ji Weitian said, holding a cup as she approached him.
At this moment, Qin Nanyu was sitting at the edge of the bed, his handsome face flushed, inexplicably seductive.
He was silent, those eyes fastening on Ji Weitian as a wolf might fixate on its prey.
She directed; he complied. However, as Ji Weitian reached for the empty cup intending to leave, he suddenly reached out and grabbed her wrist.
Ji Weitian hadn’t regained her composure and reflexively tried to withdraw her hand.
As soon as she moved, Qin Nanyu yanked her forcefully into his embrace.
She fell onto him unprepared.
Just as she was about to rise, she heard his voice, sounding pitifully above her.
"Ji Weitian, I don’t want to move out. The Qin Family Villa is too big, and I don’t want to live alone."
"..."
"I did everything not just to make it up to you. Actually, I have a secret, one I haven’t told you. Do you want to know what it is?"
