Chapter 554: A Family of Four, All Together!

In the dining room.

Ji Weitian had already taken a seat with her son.

Her adoptive parents were worried about the restaurant and wanted to go back to check on it, so they had informed her in advance that they would not be dining at the villa today.

Ji Weitian was almost done with her appetizer and still hadn’t seen Qin Nanyu come downstairs with his daughter. Remembering the laughter she had heard at the study door earlier, she unconsciously furrowed her brows.

Unable to see Qin Nanyu, Ji Weitian ate without tasting, barely managing to put down her chopsticks, intending to check what was going on when Qin Nanyu finally appeared at the entrance of the dining room, carrying Little Glutinous Rice Dumpling.

"You’re so slow, I thought something had happened," Ji Weitian said, sitting down again as she got up.

Realizing her comment showed concern for Qin Nanyu, she quickly added,

"Yaoyao didn’t want to go out with us today, she insisted on staying home waiting for you. I was worried about my own daughter."

It was like saying there was absolutely no silver buried here.

After speaking, Ji Weitian bit her lip in annoyance.

Catching the smug smile on Qin Nanyu’s face, she decided to shut her mouth and quietly helped her son with his meal.

Ruirui and Yaoyao never threw tantrums at the dinner table.

The siblings fully embraced this principle, needing no one to look after them as they sat together, spooning up their food bite by bite.

"Yaoyao wants to learn bookkeeping, I taught her a bit, so we were a bit slow coming down."

"Bookkeeping?" Ji Weitian turned in surprise to look at Little Glutinous Rice Dumpling.

Was her daughter planning on boosting her already sharp skills as a little housekeeper and then, besides their house, take over the financial reigns here at Qin Nanyu’s as well?

"Yaoyao has a real talent for understanding business matters, very impressive, very much like me, don’t you think?" Qin Nanyu lifted the wine glass in front of him, took a sip, and spoke as if it was a casual remark.

"Cough, cough—" Ji Weitian choked on his words.

She grabbed a napkin and covered her mouth.

Looking at Qin Nanyu in surprise, unable to decipher the meaning of his words.

"Just speaking my mind, why so nervous?" Qin Nanyu smiled like a breath of spring, his charming face dangerously alluring.

Before Ji Weitian could respond, he had already placed a piece of meat in her bowl.

"You’re too thin, eat more."
