Chapter 515: Scaring Myself to Death!
Chapter 515: Scaring Myself to Death!
Qin Nanyu really could have been in danger after she fell asleep, and she was unaware, causing his condition to worsen.
If that was really the case, then this illness was indeed related to her...
Thinking this, Ji Weitian couldn’t help but quicken her pace. Without waiting for the assistant to lead the way, she had already found Qin Nanyu’s hospital room based on the room number the butler had given her.
Before entering, she symbolically knocked twice on the door.
Without waiting for a response from inside, she pushed the door open.
The spacious VIP hospital room was tidy and cozy.
However, in the air, there lingered a faint smell of disinfectant.
Ji Weitian disliked the odor and frowned slightly.
It was then that she suddenly realized she had forgotten her fear of hospitals because she was worried about Qin Nanyu.
Recalling it now, her fear actually lessened quite a bit.
Turning her head, she saw Qin Nanyu asleep on the hospital bed, seemingly not yet awake. She took the items the butler had sent with her from the assistant and placed them one by one on the bedside table.
Then she turned to open the window.
Bright sunshine outside streamed into the room the moment she drew the curtains, casting a soft halo on the white windowsill.
The moving light spots carried an indescribable warmth.
The breeze stirred the curtains and also dispersed some of the room’s disinfectant odor, making the air more bearable.
Qin Nanyu on the hospital bed seemed to feel something and turned over.
The next second, he gasped.
Hearing the noise, Ji Weitian hastily walked forward, reached out to support his head, and helped him adjust his pillow.
"Are you all right?"
Qin Nanyu’s injury on his waist wasn’t too severe, but he had forgotten about his wounds earlier and had tried to sit up hastily upon seeing Ji Weitian, pulling at the painful area.
Now, meeting her concerned gaze, he hesitated for just half a second before collapsing into her arms.
"The doctor said I need to be hospitalized for observation for a few days. The specific condition will only be clear after detailed examination results come out," Qin Nanyu weakly asked as he grabbed her hand and pulled it into his embrace.
"Ji Weitian, tell me, do I have some terminal illness?"
"..."
Before she could speak, Qin Nanyu sighed while still holding her hand, "If something really happens to me, could you, considering our acquaintance, take care of Qin Morui? He only recognizes you as a mother now, and I can’t trust anyone else with him."
"Stop talking nonsense; scoundrels live for a thousand years, how could you die so easily." Ji Weitian refused to engage in such a heavy conversation, always feeling there was more to his words or some trick hidden in them.
She briefly changed the subject and had Assistant Song help him wash up, then poured out the soup the butler had made for him to drink.
After Qin Nanyu had eaten and drunk his fill and lay back down to rest, Ji Weitian turned to go find the doctor to inquire about his condition.
As soon as the door of the hospital room closed, Qin Nanyu, who lay on the bed pretending to sleep, immediately opened his eyes.
"Boss, you just sprained your back and were supposed to take medicine and leave. Why insist on lying in the hospital for a few days and scare Miss Ji?" The assistant, seeing no one else in the room, couldn’t help but ask.
Qin Nanyu countered with a question without answering: "When is the second episode of the parent-child show that Ji Weitian and I attended airing?"
The assistant was taken aback, "Today."
Upon hearing this, Qin Nanyu lay back down on the bed and covered himself with a blanket, lazily uttering,
"Lying in the hospital in advance was to avoid being beaten up and sent to the hospital."
