Chapter 503: Just Sign It!

Chapter 503: Just Sign It!

Ji Weitian struggled a few times, but was fundamentally unable to break free from Qin Nanyu’s grasp. She could only watch, wide-eyed, as he carried her into the study and dumped her into a chair.

Dazed, she immediately caught sight of Qin Nanyu already on the computer, typing away at lightning speed.

Then, a document printed out from the printer and landed in front of her.

Along with it appeared a pen.

"Sign."

"What am I signing?" Ji Weitian looked down at the document in front of her. Once she saw what was written on it, she looked at Qin Nanyu in astonishment.

It was as if she couldn’t believe that Qin Nanyu would actually have her sign a guarantee letter!

The contents were simple and clear.

First, she had to guarantee that she absolutely wouldn’t like Lu Jing.

Second, she had to guarantee that she absolutely wouldn’t let Lu Jing be Yaoyao’s dad.

Third, she had to guarantee that she wouldn’t meet Lu Jing behind his back in the future.

Fourth...

Ji Weitian couldn’t continue reading.

This so-called guarantee letter might as well have been an order for her never to interact with Lu Jing again.

"You yourself said you have nothing to do with Lu Jing. I don’t believe you unless you sign this guarantee letter," Qin Nanyu met her gaze without a hint of feeling his actions were childish. He even unscrewed the pen cap for her and handed it over.

"Can I choose not to sign?" Ji Weitian recoiled slightly, her back against the chair, and glanced at the guarantee letter in front of her again.

She was no longer a child who had to write a self-criticism for her wrongdoings.

Moreover, she genuinely had nothing to do with Lu Jing. She had done nothing wrong—merely omitted a word, so why was he holding a grudge?

"Do you like Lu Jing?" Qin Nanyu asked, his dark eyes slightly sunken upon seeing her unwillingness to sign.

Complex light swirled at the bottom of his eyes.

That sensation of dark clouds looming was extremely chilling.

Ji Weitian unconsciously shrank her neck, unaccustomed to the sudden change in Qin Nanyu.

It was a human instinct to self-preserve when facing danger.

"I don’t like him." Her answer was straightforward.

She went on to criticize Lu Jing’s shamelessness at length.

Had it been any other time, Qin Nanyu probably would have been pacified by her, but today he remained unmoved, just staring at her.

Hearing her say she didn’t like Lu Jing, he continued to ask.

"Will you meet him privately?"

"I don’t like dealing with him. It’s best not to see him again," Ji Weitian answered with genuine emotion.

She had thought that by catering to Qin Nanyu’s wishes, at least he might have calmed down by now.

Yet, the next second, he darkened his face and spoke sharply, "Then why don’t you dare to sign a single guarantee letter?"

"..."

Was it that she didn’t dare?

She just felt it was unnecessary.

However, facing Qin Nanyu’s piercing gaze, Ji Weitian inexplicably felt as if not signing would seem like she had something to hide.

"If I must sign, then I’ll sign!" Possessed by some unknown force, she took the pen from his hand and signed her name on the document in front of her.

Then she looked up confidently, "Now you should believe me, right?"

"Not yet."

Qin Nanyu’s lips parted indifferently. He reached for the document in front of her, flipped to the next page, and instructed her to sign.

Ji Weitian hadn’t expected the guarantee letter to be more than one page. Just as she was about to see what the second page contained, Qin Nanyu didn’t give her the chance. He seized her hand holding the pen and pressed it onto the signature line, guiding her hand to write her name stroke by stroke.

When he let go of her hand, Ji Weitian suddenly realized she had no clue what the second page of the guarantee letter even stipulated!
