Abyss Summoner

Chapter 347 - 339: Wanyuan Plain

Chapter 347 - 339: Wanyuan Plain

The Bottomless Abyss is a reflection of all ugliness, evil, and chaos through infinite layers and countless variations. With countless spiraling downward layers, it culminates in the ultimate brutality. Traditional knowledge believes that the Bottomless Abyss has 666 layers, though perhaps the true number is far greater than this. After all, the Bottomless Abyss as a whole is far more terrifying than traditional cognition can encompass.

The flora and fauna in the Abyss are filled with aggression, the main intelligent beings among them being various Demons.

There are many races of Demons, with different Abyssal planes often having their unique types of Demons, whose body structures are vastly different, possessing different abilities, but most of them have hand-to-hand combat skills that surpass humans and can use various kinds of Magic.

Demons are irritable, malicious, arbitrary, violent, devoid of morality, and unpredictable. They are devoted to destroying and obliterating everything (including their own kind) and take lifelong pleasure in it. They frequently invade other planes, bringing destruction and fear. They resist Order, and even an Abyss Lord cannot make them act in an entirely orderly manner. Unless controlled by Magic, they cannot unite, nor act with a plan; their thoughts at one moment will be overturned the next. They are powerful and evil lunatics.

Worms: The primary stage of Demons and also their favorite food.

Worms can choose not to evolve, in which case they can grow as large as a dragon (provided they are not eaten or killed before that happens).

If they do evolve (larvae killing and devouring each other can evolve), they will change into other Demons according to the region and their own conditions, such as Inferior Demons and the like, into smaller types of Demons.

Demons can choose whether to evolve. They can remain in their original Demon form to enhance themselves or continue to evolve. The process of Demon evolution is not unique.

The Demons in the Bottomless Abyss regard visitors as sources of food or amusement. Some Demons view powerful visitors as potential new soldiers (whether they are willing or not), drawing them deep into the endless war between Demons and Devils (who inhabit the Nine Hells) — the Blood War.

The number of layers in the Bottomless Abyss exceeds anyone’s imagination, whether mortals or deities. Some of the most renowned layers are described as follows.

Apart from being suppressed by environmental conditions on certain layers, the vision in the Bottomless Abyss is normal. Additionally, unless stated otherwise, a hellish sun, phantom-like red light, or similarly discomforting brightness illuminates all layers of the Bottomless Abyss.

Each layer of the Bottomless Abyss has its own unique, terrifying environment. Besides their harsh, desolate natural forms, no single tone can encompass all the diverse layers. Here may exist lakes of corrosive acid, clouds of poisonous gas, caves with razor-sharp spikes, and scorching lava landscapes. There are also some less deadly terrains, such as blistering salt deserts, toxic breezes, and insect-infested plains.

As the first layer of these levels, the Wanyuan Plain is undoubtedly the most populous and biologically diverse region.

Wanyuan Plain.

The very top of countless layers of the Bottomless Abyss. It is a desolate land, uninhabited and barren, covered in thick dust, roasted under a hellish deep red sun. Amidst the dusty plain, there are three types of terrains: massive Abysses on the surface, gigantic steel fortresses, and the Nether River.

The Abysses on the top layer are entrances to deeper layers. Descending certain specific Abysses, travelers will quickly reach related layers, although leaping randomly into an Abyss leading to an unfamiliar plane is extremely dangerous. Most Abysses are dual-directional entrances, but some are one-way, abandoning those travelers trapped on new layers.

The steel fortresses here are usually inhabited by powerful Demons and their minions. These fortresses often serve as gathering points for the Demon Legion venturing towards the endless path of the Blood War. Some of the largest battles of that war occur on this layer and deeper, as well as nearby outer planes.

The Nether River meanders through this layer, with some river routes spilling into Abysses, while other Abysses flood with sewage, becoming tributaries of the main stream of the Nether River.

As a broad plane, many dark creatures subsist here. Besides the unique Demons of the Abyss, Skeleton Warriors, Liches, Minotaurs, and Sheep Demons are also residents here.

Despite the harsh environment, a plethora of camps, both large and small, are scattered across the vast land. The dual scarcity of environment and food makes slaughter a common occurrence.

In such an environment, there is no real sense of carnivory. For a Demon, apart from their own kind, others like Sheep Demons and Minotaurs can become food to be savored.

And for Minotaurs, Demons are just as much a delicacy. Compared to the rotten corpses discovered in the wild, the flesh of a Desire Demon is considered the most delicious delicacy.

Maintaining integrity on one’s own.

Does not apply in this environment; when facing provocation, there are only two paths to take: One, defeat them, leave them disabled or dead! Two, be defeated by the other, and be left disabled or dead.

A land devoid of morals and ethics, a place of ceaseless slaughter.

This is the Abyss.

However, no matter where, there are always some exceptions, just as in the most prestigious schools, some criminals will appear; it’s the same principle.
