Chapter 509 84: Optimism
Chapter 509 84: Optimism
When Yan Luo returned to the villa, there was not a single figure to be seen, even Keke was nowhere to be found.
Connecting the terminal to the villa's system, Yan Luo saw Sasa's message on the operating system.
Sasa had borrowed Keke to study the intelligent program of the synthetic beings.
Although she hadn't figured out a way to deal with the Evil God, Sasa believed that the synthetic beings didn't possess souls, and the Evil God wouldn't target them after its birth.
If they ultimately couldn't defeat the Evil God, who was spawned from the thoughts of the Blue Star People, then perhaps the existing synthetic beings could inherit their civilization, allowing the Blue Star Civilization to continue.
The current synthetic beings were not very advanced in their intelligent programming, however, Keke was created decades ago as a combat-oriented synthetic being to assist the Hunters in hunting within the Abyss. Its intelligent programming was much more advanced than the average synthetic, and Sasa believed that if the synthetics were to inherit the Blue Star Civilization, perhaps they could use Keke's program as a base to activate the intelligences of all synthetics on Blue Star, giving them human-like wisdom.
As for whether they could develop themselves afterward, it would depend on their own efforts.
After seeing Sasa's message, Yan Luo fell into silence.
The excitement from the 'Abyss destruction leads to the Abyss entrance becoming a space channel' faded away.
The Evil God remained a formidable challenge they must face; as it stood, the odds of the Blue Star People against the Evil God were fifty-fifty.
Even though Yan Luo already knew how to reach the Sequence beyond the 250,000 mark, he didn't dare guarantee that he could defeat the Evil God.
There are many types of Evil Gods, and the one Blue Star nurtures certainly wouldn't lack a form like [Evil God: Alfheim], as that was a coincidental occurrence.
The thoughts on Blue Star are complex, and Yan Luo had no idea what kind of appearance an Evil God birthed from such thoughts would have, making any plan against it practically impossible.
Sitting on the sofa in the living room, Yan Luo's mind was a mess, not knowing what he was thinking.
Click!
The villa's front door suddenly opened, and Yan Luo's gaze shifted as Wang Lingyu walked in from outside.
She kicked off her shoes at the entrance and walked straight into the living room, sitting down in Yan Luo's lap without saying a word, quietly looking up at his face.
Yan Luo was a bit confused, "What's wrong?"
Wang Lingyu lowered her gaze and still said nothing.
But Yan Luo understood her meaning, lowered his head and their lips met.
Wang Lingyu naturally lifted her arms, wrapping them around Yan Luo's neck, her body leaning to the side, pulling Yan Luo down onto the sofa with her.
Neither spoke, lost in the enchanting atmosphere, soon a muffled hum resounded.
Gripping the sofa, Wang Lingyu bit her lower lip lightly, her eyelids fluttering, slightly out of breath, "You just went away for so many days... it seems like you haven't really relaxed lately..."
"Time is pressing, no one knows when the Evil God will be born, I have to finish everything before its birth," Yan Luo said, his face calm as his body moved restlessly.
"The Evil God..."
Mentioning this, Wang Lingyu suddenly seemed a bit distracted.
After a while, Wang Lingyu snapped out of it, taking a few deep breaths, "Then shouldn't we seize the moment, like right now... after all, who knows how long we have left to live..."
Hearing this, Yan Luo buried his face in her neck, exhaling warmly, "But I don't want to die yet, it might sound sappy, but I really do want to keep living with you all."
Yan Luo normally wouldn't say such things; from Wang Lingyu's perspective, it seemed like it was the first time he had ever said something like that to her.
His words struck her to the core, causing Wang Lingyu's emotions to reach a peak, her heart bursting with joy, her body trembling slightly.
When Sasa returned to Yan Luo's villa with Julia, Wang Lingyu had already surrendered, and found that Yan Luo hadn't reacted to the door opening, glancing at it dazedly, calling out to Sasa for help.
Seeing the scene in the living room, Julia's face instantly turned scarlet, her earlobes almost dripping with blood.
Though Yan Luo quickly manipulated the magnetic field to draw two blankets over himself and Wang Lingyu, from their appearance, Julia could fully imagine what had transpired earlier.
Observing Yan Luo and Wang Lingyu, Sasa sighed, apologizing helplessly to Julia beside her.
Julia was so embarrassed that she could almost dig through her shoes with her toes, forcing a couple of laughs as she was about to leave.
At that moment, she was stopped by Wang Lingyu.
"Don't go, Julia!" Wang Lingyu shouted to Julia in a slightly hoarse voice, "You have to resolve the issues with those Elves in Alfheim, and having one more Son of the Saint to help you should be useful, right? Especially one who's a half-blood of a Saint and an Elf!"
Julia instinctively halted her steps, looking at Wang Lingyu in panic.
Leaning on Yan Luo's shoulder with a lazy smile, Wang Lingyu beckoned to Julia with her finger, "Opportunities don't come often, you know!"
Julia's heart leapt to her throat, watching Sasa strip down and walk over, she gritted her teeth and closed the villa door, keeping the noise confined to that large room.
......
With Keke temporarily stored in Sasa's research lab, Yan Luo had to clean up by himself.
Thankfully, the magnetic field power was very convenient, sweeping stained areas with his mind left them perfectly clean.
Sasa had become a 'Samurai', no longer the physically weak clumsy person she used to be.
Having looked dazed with crooked eyes and drooling for three hours, Sasa finally recovered, donning a nightgown and rubbing her still sore abdomen as she came down from upstairs.
As she descended the stairs, Yan Luo was preparing dinner in the kitchen.
Sasa glanced over, suddenly hearing Yan Luo say, "I saw your message, the plan isn't bad."
Sasa was startled for a moment before remembering what she had written in the message.
Then she sighed, "But that's just an unavoidable fallback, we still have to figure out how to defeat the Evil God, and not just think about fallback plans."
"That's something I should be considering." Yan Luo stirred the leafy greens, noticing the pan was dry, he added some water to it.
Currently, Yan Luo was the strongest on Blue Star, and after the Evil God was born, he'd be the first to act against it.
If he couldn't defeat the Evil God, others would then join him in the fight.
Watching Yan Luo's tall figure, Sasa saw a hint of 'loneliness' within.
Although Yan Luo had many friends and several lovers around him now, when it came to facing the Evil God, others couldn't really help, it was up to Yan Luo alone.
Sasa really wanted to assist Yan Luo, but she didn't know how.
For her, considering a fallback for the Blue Star Civilization was the utmost she could manage.
As Yan Luo prepared dinner, he spoke with Sasa about what he'd been doing over the past ten days.
Upon hearing Yan Luo talk about the 'Abyss entrance turning into a space channel' thing, Sasa widened her eyes in disbelief, her previous melancholy being completely replaced by shock.
Why would something like that happen?
Sasa wanted to ask this question, but she knew Yan Luo likely didn't know either.
"What are you planning to do next?" Sasa asked Yan Luo.
Yan Luo plated the meal, then used the magnetic field to levitate it towards the dining table.
He spoke as he walked, "I want to reconnect the world—before the Evil God is born."
This might take several months, for Yan Luo to destroy all the existing Abysses on Blue Star, turning every Abyss entrance into a space channel.
Hunters had a new career path now, and Yan Luo didn't need to worry as much anymore.
He knew that if he wanted to, the United Government would definitely support his actions.
With the United Government's help, the impact of this small-town exploration's transformation could be minimized, perhaps even preventing industry disruptions entirely.
Sasa sat down at the dining table, looking at Yan Luo in confusion, "Why do you have such an idea?"
Yan Luo tapped his head, "The Evil God will be influenced by the thoughts, at least before its birth. I think the plan of the two Elven Saints wasn't entirely wrong, so I plan on making the Blue Star Society atmosphere more positive and optimistic, which might help us deal with the Evil God."
After saying this, Yan Luo headed upstairs to the bedroom, bringing down Wang Lingyu and Julia, who were still sprawled on the bed, for dinner.
