Chapter 2012 - 24: Two Hundred Million Years of Waiting
But even on this abyssal planet, more hellish than hell, more apocalyptic than the apocalypse.
Flames ignited the Domain of Void, initiating the Reincarnation.
Reincarnation.
When the Revelation Server began to operate, all the backed-up human memory, thoughts, and souls were cast into the already chaotic, pitch-black Domain of Void, transforming into demons, causing the Domain of Void to twist and change.
—Initially, the world was a void.
Only shattered rocks, burning earth, and boiling black water existed, everything shrouded in chaos.
Until one day, the first fire appeared within the pitch-black chaos... Flames illuminated the darkness, brightened the Nihility, and things that did not exist were created, with all that had disappeared once more appearing.
A brand new world was created.
The humans of the new world possessed memories of their ’past lives’. In every sense, they were the original individuals, but due to the distortion by the Domain of Void and demonization, they could not properly recognize themselves. The Revelation Server erased all painful memories for them, allowing them to live peacefully in the new world.
For them, all of this was no different from the Calamity of Heavenly Fall: they were sheltered in a gigantic sanctuary, waited for the world of war, and the world was reborn. And now, it was merely the task of building a home once again.
The new world was vast and expansive because everything was an extension and imagination of the Domain of Void. People joyfully started from scratch, building towns and cities, once again delineating countries and societies, where they reproduced, continued struggles, and competition.
Because it wasn’t completely starting from scratch, many people had professional knowledge. Within the first few decades of the Reincarnation, the ’Reincarnated Humans’ established fairly stable settlements and social structures.
Yet for certain reasons, technology did not advance, and there were very few Sublimators. People maintained a city-state to national-level social structure, fighting with a maximum power of Second Energy Level Peak, while science at its highest level produced only cannons and Qi Machines, with further innovations like internal combustion engines and alchemy engines at the cutting-edge, highest-tier technology in various countries, impossible to universally apply.
And this certain reason was the limit of ’Reincarnation’.
Those at the Third Energy Level with a Heart Light Body would discern the truth of the world, realizing they lived in a dream of the Virtual Realm, and noticing all sorts of implausible aspects of this world.
The power of all past High Energy Level individuals, upon their deaths and subsequent entry into reincarnation, became the very power sustaining the Reincarnation. Even if Reincarnation could recycle nearly all the energy for circulation, the higher the foundation, the better the quality of Reincarnation.
Though the Second Energy Level Peak power could already defeat armies, it could still be overcome by lower-level Sublimators and various alchemical cannons gathering forces, making this world’s wars smoother and society more stable compared to the original Terra.
As for technology, it was simply because the reactions were relatively simple, and the server could bear the load—higher-level aether reactions would involve the essence of the Domain of Void, still leading to the world’s instability.
Explore the world slowly, expand territories slowly, proliferate and grow slowly.
Everything in the world of Reincarnation was very peaceful, although human life still had its share of joys and sorrows, and there were many regrets. At least there wouldn’t suddenly be a Fifth Energy Level powerhouse going mad, trying to reshape the entire world into their desired form.
Moreover, this world also had many adventures, battles, and stories. Distant explorations, adventurers’ experiences, mercenaries’ legends, those classic swords and magic, and the struggles among city-states were enough to capture people’s hearts.
Quickly, quickly.
Thousands of years passed, tens of thousands of years passed, yet the world still existed.
Everything remained the same, although people developed many new technologies, entering the electronic age. But this was the limit, as people were immersed in a stable society, continuing a life that would never end no matter how long it went on.
Fifty thousand years.
This was the lifespan of the first era.
And the reason for its End was very simple.
The distortion reached its limit, and the essence of Artificial Demons turned newborns into true demons, the loss of humanity and degradation of souls led to the emergence of monsters. The originally peaceful world encountered an ’Apocalypse Demon Disaster’, and in the face of this calamity, there were no heroes to turn the tide, nor undying ones or ashes to continue the world.
The world was destroyed by the demon disaster.
Then, all the twisted Domain of Void began to flow back, contracting... heading toward that initial flame.
"Is there no problem?"
[It was easier than expected. Fifty thousand years of time could flow away so effortlessly... It’s hard to imagine those past days as a human that seemed to pass year by year.]
[Has anything happened outside?]
"A few years after Reincarnation began, the Calamity of Light erupted, and Terra shattered in half, the remnants becoming a lava planet. It hasn’t fully cooled yet, but I condensed the evaporated water into meteors, and they can be thrown back to Terra once it cools to reshape the ecosystem."
"As for the lost half mass, take your time, anyway, we can wait for cosmic dust to gather."
[...I merely reignited the flames, yet you are truly going to create the world again.]
[Isn’t it lonely?]
"The Dragon Kings entrusted Dragon Island to me. I now have to guard the seal, and in passing, suppress the remaining Thousand Stars. The future resurrection of Terra relies on them. Overall, I’m quite busy, but everything is on track now, and I can rely on Dragon Island to accelerate my time, so fifty thousand years isn’t too long."
