Chapter 1941 - 3: The Heart Light Body of Yisen Gard
Since January 1st, Terra Year 777, when the victor of the Solar Battle, Ian Silverpeak of the Edge of Perished Sun, returned to the Terra Continent and delivered the Perpetual Engine Declaration, the world began to change.
The most intuitive change is that the once fervent world war has now completely ceased.
To be precise, even before the Solar Battle, the intensity of war across the continent was gradually decreasing.
The conflicts between nations had become routine, partly because countries withdrew significant advanced combat forces to study the Arcane Pathway, and partly due to the wars being fought to a stage where outcomes were clear.
Continuing to fight would require more investment, otherwise, there would be no additional gains.
This laid a good foundation for ceasefire.
As for why to stop the war... the reason is simple.
Because from top to bottom, no one wants to fight anymore.
The strong do not wish to fight, for they do not want to cause deaths—the emergence of the Perpetual Motion Machine makes the victory or defeat in war seem utterly ridiculous. Killing the opponent’s soldiers merely provides a source of votes, unwavering in death, for the other side, and if one’s own side dies during an attack, they might even turn against them.
Thus, no one desires to actively attack another country, as both victory and defeat yield no profit.
As for ordinary people... hey, who wants to fight!
No matter who acquires the Perpetual Motion Machine, there’s a high chance of good days ahead, so why forgo future prosperity for war? Dying now would be terribly unprofitable, not only missing out on the future golden era of human beauty, but also possibly missing the ’era of universal Sublimators’ in the theoretical Arcane Pathway.
If everything is truly as Ian Silverpeak said, then after the Perpetual Motion Machine really starts operating, Terra Humans will experience an era of infinite energy, territorial expansion, no food worries, everyone eating well, staying warm, having houses to live in, and each person being able to pursue their dreams!
Though everyone presently does not know who the ultimate victor is, it is undeniable that if one does not integrate these future visions into their goals, then, even if they are the strongest Sublimator of their nation, the people might not vote for them.
The entire world went into frenzy due to a single statement by Ian Silverpeak.
Of course, some leaders are uninterested in the Perpetual Motion Machine or believe they cannot win.
However, they dare not continue oppressing their domestic population in the same way.
Why?
Because the world has those strong people capable of competing for ownership of the Perpetual Motion Machine, the rulers of the largest countries, who have long locked their hungry, scarlet eyes on the leaders of all other forces.
If these potential victors discover anyone oppressing their domestic population...
There’s no need to overthink, these powerful individuals will swiftly join forces to strike, assassinate them, then divide their nation, split the ’vote source’.
Everyone must do their best, achieve perfection, otherwise, they will be seized—and the oppressed population will decidedly not miss a strong person who oppresses them, but rather joyfully vote for those who liberated them!
This is the ’Vote Intimidation’ of the new era!
The bottom layer refuses war, the weaker strong do not dare continue war, while the strongest batch has long forsaken war and is scanning the arena, watching which country dares continue oppressing people to enlist, or resume war.
Thus, the war rapidly ended.
But a new concept of ’competition’ emerged in the world.
The strong are contemplating how to construct a society most agreeable to all citizens, closely aligning with local livelihoods, without being overly ambitious, but meticulously crafted society.
In a sense, this is also a form of war, but it’s a war with altered logic.
Regarding this, many ordinary people are curious.
Original warfare involved people laying down lives due to certain strong individuals’ wills, campaigning against other forces.
Similar to legislators, for personal factory and estate interests, casually sending sons of farmers thousands of miles away to kill another group of farmers’ sons.
Regardless of winners or losers, tens of thousands, even millions, became the fuel consumed in war, and the final result may not be as satisfactory.
However, unlike Earth, if Terra’s strong initiate war, they must be part of it, whether successful or not, they face the possibility of death—this is almost equivalent to Earth’s nuclear war logic—in the sense that if war starts, the top strong are most likely to die first.
Conversely, every war on Terra now equals nuclear warfare, hence the possibility of world destruction is extraordinarily high.
Brutal.
Yet simple and understandable.
But now?
No longer does everyone constantly face the danger of world destruction, hence many feel puzzled.
——Even at the end, truly determines a strong person possessing the Perpetual Motion Machine... that cannot change the world’s logic, merely creating an almighty emperor for everyone!
——If this emperor does not intend to fulfill promises, can the Perpetual Motion Machine counteract him?
