Chapter 1937 - 2: Pioneer Space, The God of Freeloaders!

Pioneer Space.

A strange domain that appeared a few months ago, shortly after the Perpetual Engine Declaration.

During everyone’s sleep, it selects certain individuals who meet the criteria, guiding their souls into the domain.

Gaer was also among them, even being one of the first users of Pioneer Space.

Initially, Gaer was exhausted from the schemes and plots in the Royal Court and various factions, so he felt a vague guidance in his dreams at night.

A voice gently and calmly asked him if he wanted to become stronger, to have enough power and knowledge to achieve his dreams.

[Yes/No]

"Of course I want that." As a member of the Royal Court, Gaer honestly faced his desire: "But then again, who are you? What gives you the right to ask..."

But before Gaer could voice his skepticism, the mysterious voice took it as a yes, and Gaer’s vision went dark, bringing him directly into Pioneer Space, making him one of the first users of this mysterious space.

The mysterious voice of Pioneer Space also genuinely informed Gaer of this honor, noting that this initial achievement was quite rare, with only a dozen or so people throughout Terra.

But Gaer did not appreciate this honor.

Because, to put it bluntly, the first users were essentially helping by testing for bugs with their experience—users were the bug testers of Pioneer Space!

The initial Pioneer Space was just a silver platform where everyone stayed alone in their small rooms, able to exchange for the knowledge and skills they wanted from the Great Light Sphere of Pioneer Space.

And the points for the exchange came from completing tests.

Yes, tests.

Pioneer Space provided a large collection of free books, sources unknown to Gaer, but likely more than the Azure Sky’s Great Library, including a complete collection—note: complete—of technological documents from the previous era, covering everything from handmade battery manufacturing to isotope battery production.

They could freely browse these books and learn whatever knowledge they desired—of course, some more advanced books required higher permissions to unlock, explained as a protective measure, ensuring users had enough capability to handle it.

So, how to unlock permissions?

Examinations!

Anyone who has read will undergo examinations, and to unlock higher-level tomes, examinations are necessary!

Anyone with a curiosity could not resist the potential of reading these tomes, and having read them, they could not help but want to continue learning!

Of course, some people might resist the temptation of curiosity, but Pioneer Space naturally did not select such individuals.

Depending on what one reads, the examination content varies; Gaer himself is particularly interested in the mental cultivation methods of the previous era’s people, having read quite a few related tomes, and his tests thus focus on the details of various meditation techniques, visualization methods, and thought retention practices.

The initial test content was fairly simple, which Gaer could easily answer based on his foundation.

However, as time passed, by the second week, Gaer began to struggle, needing to deeply interpret every learned technique, be it Azure Sky Royal Court’s unique Visualization Method or the techniques from Bloodline Inheritance, breaking down these complex skills he previously used without understanding why, and analyzing them in-depth to pass the examination.

By the second month, Gaer could no longer rely on his past accumulation to pass; he had to seriously study the knowledge offered by Pioneer Space, thoroughly integrating the advanced unlocked knowledge, making it his own, to pass the examinations.

Up to now, although Gaer has passed several advanced tests, unlocking many high-order meditation techniques both from the previous era’s civilization and some of Terra’s hidden techniques, even acquiring those Arcane Pathway meditation techniques from the Silverpeak Domain, he still couldn’t pass the advanced level 4 ’Meditation Specialization’ exam.

Incidentally, above advanced, there are ’Special Grade’ and ’Grandmaster,’ each major rank with nine levels, and although advanced level 3 sounds decent, it’s only moderately good.

The strongest in the meditation realm within Pioneer Space now has reached Special Grade level 2! Gaer is far from that.

As for why Gaer chose the field of meditation rather than another, it’s simple.

The bloodline of the Devouring Wolf granted him the strongest body, and even if Pioneer Space had techniques for physical enhancement, it couldn’t make him stronger in such a short time, so why not compensate for his weaknesses—Azure Sky Royal Court’s research on Spirit Energy in the soul domain is relatively weak.

Even if Pioneer Space could truly strengthen his body, Gaer currently does not wish to stand out more... In the current state of the Royal Court, he truly can’t afford to take the spotlight.

In that case, he would meditate more, improving his Aether Manipulation ability, which is beneficial.

Having made this decision, Gaer truly never regretted it.

After delving deep into the studies, Gaer found that Terra’s meditation techniques have now advanced to an astonishing degree; they not only enhance mental power but also improve computational and Origin Quality control power, and Aether Manipulation.

Moreover, depending on the meditation techniques one practices, cultivators can gain additional abilities: super memory, extra-sensory perception, spider sense, crisis foresight, bullet time, thought simulation, Inland Empire...
