Chapter 1003: Missed Me That Much?

Chapter 1003: Missed Me That Much?

Because Jiang Jingheng was coming back today, Mu Yan specially rushed back from the hospital last night, and got up early in the morning. The first thing she did was pick up her phone, and she was shocked by the number of WeChat messages.

So many messages, did something happen?

Lan Xi, Zheng Lu Hua, and Qin Xi, who were basically on good terms with her, all sent her messages.

Qin Xi: "I’ve worked hard for so many years, but I can’t even compare to those two things on your hand. I’m flipping out, friendship over!"

Lan Xi: "Yanyan, Brother Jiang is such a spendthrift, aren’t you going to hit him? I won’t admit that I’m envious, jealous, and resentful!"

Zheng Lu Hua: "Boohoo... I’m getting more and more envious. If only I had a husband like Brother Jiang."

Wang Linjia: "Isn’t the price of your public displays of affection a bit too high? Honestly, if you keep pulling these stunts, I’ll be more and more reluctant to get married, and then I’ll definitely blame it on you."

...

Mu Yan looked through a few WeChat messages and didn’t quite get it, she only knew something was happening on Jiang Jingheng’s side.

She instinctively opened Weibo and saw Jiang Jingheng at the top of the trending list.

Mu Yan was a bit speechless. If this guy wasn’t a rich kid, he would definitely attract a huge fanbase as a celebrity.

She clicked on it and discovered that Jiang Jingheng had bought two diamonds in Switzerland. After seeing the price, she was momentarily speechless.

She suddenly understood Lan Xi and the others’ feelings.

She felt a bit complicated now, both happy and pained.

Jiang Jingheng was arriving in the country at noon, and Mu Yan planned to cook some soup to nourish him.

Yu Ma saw her entering the kitchen and stepped aside.

Actually, Yu Ma had prepared all the ingredients, so she just needed to put them in, then it was a matter of controlling the heat.

After making the soup, Mu Yan went to have breakfast.

As soon as Jiang Jingheng got off the plane, he drove back.

As he entered, he saw her drawing in the living room. She was so engrossed that she didn’t notice him coming in.

Jiang Jingheng changed his shoes, walked behind her, and saw that she was sketching him.

She didn’t hesitate with each stroke, each line was well-defined, almost lifelike. Especially those eyes, they seemed to hold a spark he wasn’t aware of.

Even though others said he looked good, he never really cared.

Until he saw her drawing, he realized that he really did look good in her eyes.

When she finished the last stroke, Mu Yan looked at it with satisfaction.

She put down the brush, stretched, and planned to check the soup in the kitchen.

She just stood up when she felt someone behind her, scared her into a start. When she turned around and saw it was him, she instantly let out a sigh of relief, "Why didn’t you say anything when you came back, you almost scared my heart out!"

"I just wanted to see what Mrs. Jiang was doing while I was away." Jiang Jingheng said with a smile, his gaze landing on the paper, "Turns out Mrs. Jiang missed me so much she drew me."

Mu Yan gave a light hum, "Yeah, is that not allowed?"

"I’m honored."

Mu Yan scrutinized him for a moment, and only relaxed after confirming he hadn’t lost weight.

"Are you tired? Do you want to rest?"

"I’m not tired when I see Mrs. Jiang."

Mu Yan knew he was a sweet-talker, and said, "Are you hungry? I made some soup."

"If Mrs. Jiang made the soup, of course I’ll drink it." Jiang Jingheng said this while holding her fingers, carefully checking to make sure she hadn’t hurt herself, which eased his mind.

Mu Yan knew his concerns, and whispered, "If my fingers were hurt, I wouldn’t be able to draw."

"As long as you know." Jiang Jingheng raised an eyebrow, "Your fingers aren’t meant for cooking."

"Are they meant for drawing then?"

"Not exactly."

"Hm?" Mu Yan looked at him puzzled.

Jiang Jingheng didn’t reply, instead he picked up his suitcase and went upstairs.

Mu Yan felt his gaze was full of meaning, which couldn’t be a good thing, but she was pulled along by him upstairs anyway.
