Chapter 204: Rebuilding Begin
Chapter 204: Rebuilding Begin
Albe seemed to realize it too and nodded, as if thinking, so that’s an option.
"If we can repair things, then that makes things much easier. Now we just need to gather the materials required for it."
Since Qiong Xing had never built a house before, he had no idea what materials were needed.
So he decided to have Iseul and Raon look into it and gather what was necessary together with Leander and the others.
Meanwhile, Qiong Xing and Albe focused on practicing the magic needed for repairs.
"Well, the way demons use magic is mostly focused on attacking."
That was easy to understand just by looking at Albe.
Qiong Xing had never actually seen it himself, but from the things he heard, it was clear—Albe’s slightly twisted personality and the way demons thought of it as completely normal.
"So, you know, when they argue with their companions, things can get heated, right? Humans might end up in fistfights, but demons... even when they fight, they use magic."
"...Is that really okay?"
"To a certain extent. Everyone is pretty tough, and even if they get hurt, it just means they’re weak and brought it on themselves."
Demon society sounded pretty harsh.
"Well, that’s part of the reason. Because of that, it’s pretty common for walls or floors to get destroyed. And when that happens, you have to fix it, right?"
I see. So that’s where repair magic comes in.
But even then, it wasn’t about rebuilding something from scratch—it was more like fixing a chipped wall or small damage.
"Then we just need to scale that up, right?"
"Exactly. I’m not good at repairs, and my magic has limits, so I can’t handle something that big. But if it’s you, Qiong Xing, you can probably do it, right?"
Then he would do it.
"If it’s just fixing a part, you only have to match what’s already there. You don’t need to think about what kind of room to make or what should go where. That makes it easier, right?"
...He wasn’t going to say it was impossible just because thinking was a hassle, right?
"Recreating something that already existed is actually really hard work. Depending on the place, even a small mistake can make the whole building tilt. And that’s just for fixing part of it. Rebuilding an entire house? That’s just crazy."
Then did that mean that he, who was trying to do exactly that, was also crazy?
"But it’s still more efficient than building something from scratch. You’d have to say what you want, plan everything so it won’t collapse, gather the materials, and of course, one person’s magic isn’t enough, so you’d have to cooperate even if you don’t want to. And if there’s even a small mistake, it turns into arguments. It’s just a waste of time."
It seemed that demons really disliked working together that much.
Maybe Albe and Cari who cared for others and showed affection were actually rare among their kind.
"Then let’s ask Iseul and Raon if they have any building plans. And if we can compare those with buildings that still have their original shape, it should make things much easier."
Fortunately, Iseul and Raon’s parents had been leaders among dragons.
There was a good chance that documents related to the town’s construction were still stored somewhere.
And so, they got to work.
After putting in a lot of effort, they managed to fully restore one house back to its original state.
"Amazing..."
"No way... you really did it."
"You... always go far beyond what people expect."
Iseul and Albe stared in shock with their mouths open, while Joa looked more exasperated than surprised.
Meanwhile, Cari and Elias simply praised him happily, saying how amazing it was, which soothed Qiong Xing.
"Well, it’s better than falling short, isn’t it? It may have happened by chance, but as long as the result is good, everything is fine."
"That’s way too forceful... but whatever."
Qiong Xing thought they could at least praise him properly.
Now that they knew repairs were possible, all that was left was gathering the materials.
So they decided to return to the hideout and bring more people to help.
"No, no! Qiong Xing, please stay!"
Maybe because they had spent several days together, Iseul seemed even more reluctant to part than before and insisted that only Qiong Xing stay behind.
"I’ll come back soon. You just have to be patient until then."
"Nooo! I want to stay with you!"
Iseul clung tightly to Qiong Xing’s waist and refusing to let him go.
Leander and Elias tried to pull him away, but somehow, the force he used almost pulled Qiong Xing’s pants off, yet he wouldn’t budge.
"Hey! Let go! You can’t go home like this!"
"Don’t leave me—no, no!"
"I understand how you feel, but let go. You’re not the only mate here."
"I know, I know, but I don’t want to—"
"Wait a second! The pants, the pants!"
Leander and Elias were trying their best, but the pants kept sliding down and even just seeing Qiong Xing’s underwear didn’t make Iseul let go.
This was only embarrassing Qiong Xing more.
"Alright, alright! Just let go for a moment!"
"Okay!"
Finally, he let go with a cheer of "Yay!"
And Qiong Xing pulled up his sliding pants as he stood there.
Joa and Albe watched with exasperation, but Qiong Xing glared at them as if to say, if you think that, help me!
"Then I’ll stay just one more day. Only one day, understand?"
"Yay!!"
Because of his promise to Fei, Qiong Xing decided that Joa and the others should return first, since the stay was only for three days.
"Raon’s here, so it should be fine, but be careful going back. Cari will return tomorrow, so tonight, sleep with either Elias or Joa, okay?"
"No! I want Mama!"
"You’ll see me tomorrow. Okay?"
"Nooo, Cari wants to stay with Mama too!"
"Alright, he’s said it that clearly, so let him. One day won’t hurt. If you want, we can even leave Mayo here so it’ll be safe."
"...Okay."
