Chapter 192: Taken Away
Chapter 192: Taken Away
As he swear that he would never let him go, he gave everything as Qiong Xing wanted by releasing his white liquid deep inside him.
At the same time, as if responding, he felt warmth liquid spill across his stomach.
He realized that Qiong Xing had also reached his limit brought there by him and he almost smiled.
As he hide that expression, he carried him to the bath to clean him.
"You’re not hiding it at all."
"I see. Well, I don’t mind if you notice."
Even though it felt like a waste, he carefully washed his entire body clean.
When Qiong Xing pouted slightly and pinched his cheek, Joa laughed and carried him in his arms as they headed back to the room where the others were waiting.
As expected, Leander and Elias who were already awake made plenty of sarcastic comments.
Now then, it was time for swimming practice!
Since it was a river, it was not very deep and the current was gentle making it perfect for practice.
"Mama, won’t you join?"
"Unfortunately, I can’t swim, so I won’t be able to teach you. But Albe will help you for Cari’s sake, so do your best, okay?"
"Cari don’t want it then."
Oh dear.
Cari had been excited about going out with the whole family, but now that it was time for practice, he seemed upset that Qiong Xing wouldn’t join him.
"Hmm... if you really don’t want to, that’s fine, but there are some good things about learning to swim."
"What things?"
"First, you won’t ever drown. Well, unless the current is really strong, but otherwise... it’s not a bad skill to have, right? Right... Albe?"
"What is it?"
Qiong Xing called Albe over who looked at him curiously.
"Cari has a water attribute, right?"
"Yes, but... what is it? Something’s weird—ah."
Albe realized the question too: if Cari has a water attribute, he can manipulate water.
So, technically, does he even need to swim?
"No, but even so, Cari can’t do everything yet! Even if you can use magic, if something happens suddenly and you can’t react... well, you know..."
"Well, it wouldn’t hurt to be able to do it. So, Cari... do you want to skip it?"
If it wasn’t necessary, Qiong Xing didn’t intend to force him.
Being able to swim might be useful later, but if he couldn’t, there were other ways to handle situations.
"Mama, are you happy?"
"Hm? Me? Of course I am. And if Cari can learn swimming, you can even teach me too. I’d be happy if Cari could do it in my place."
"I’ll do it! Cari will do it!"
Good. He seemed motivated which was most important.
Whether he used magic to swim or just walked through the water, it wasn’t guaranteed he would succeed right away.
But being able to do it couldn’t hurt.
Qiong Xing would have done it himself, but the fear of drowning from the past and the concern of his family had stopped him before.
So now, Cari would be in Albe’s care, while Qiong Xing napped with Lian and Joa.
Technically, it wasn’t even noon yet, but Qiong Xing had been up since early morning working and his head felt heavy with sleepiness.
Even on the way here, he had bumped into trees a few times, which had worried Elias and the others a lot.
The sound of splashing water filled the air as Qiong Xing tried to drift comfortably into sleep, but something in his vision seemed to darken.
His eyes were closed, so it was vague, but he felt a sudden cold touch on his back.
He opened his eyes.
"Good morning~"
"......."
"—I’ll kill you."
Before he could even process it and close his eyes again, a terrifying voice sounded from beside him.
Joa was swinging a sword down toward Qiong Xing’s head.
He just wanted to sleep.
He saw Elias and the others noticing too as they running over with their swords drawn.
"Why~? I was just saying hello," said a voice as he grinning foolishly.
Despite the casual tone, Qiong Xing felt, somehow, that maybe it was his fault.
Bad... bad... maybe it really was bad?
"I’m sleepy. Go away," Qiong Xing said.
His tired mind found everything too bothersome and he didn’t want to deal with anyone, so he tried to push them off.
"Then I wanna sleep with you too~ Is that not allowed?"
"No, it’s not," Qiong Xing replied.
It wouldn’t just be a quiet sleep side by side.
That would be too easy.
This one would just talk endlessly and he wouldn’t get any rest at all.
"Too bad~ Oh well. Hey, I heard from your brother that the kid... Did you really give birth to her?"
The kid... he must mean Lian.
"This child? Yes, I did give birth to her..." Qiong Xing said carefully.
"Really? Yes! Then I choose you!"
"Huh?"
Before he could even ask what that meant, someone grabbed him by the arm.
Qiong Xing felt himself lifted along with Lian in his arms.
???
What the hell was going on?
His mind that was still foggy from sleep couldn’t keep up.
He tried to resist, but both his arms were full with Lian, making it impossible.
He saw Joa reaching out toward him, but the distance between them kept growing.
Why?
"Could you put me down first?"
"When we get there. It’s dangerous if you move now, so stay still, okay?"
He felt himself being lifted lightly and swiftly, moving through the trees like he weighed nothing. Then, in the next moment, a sudden floating sensation hit him.
"!?"
Instinctively, Qiong Xing wrapped his arms around Lian and pulling her close to his chest to protect her.
Not just himself, he couldn’t risk anything happening to Little Lian.
He held him with all his strength, yet no sensation of the ground or the pain of falling ever came.
Instead, what he felt was hard and rough... something solid?
"...Sitting isn’t very comfortable," a voice said casually.
"That’s the first time anyone’s said that~"
Qiong Xing was exhausted.
