Chapter 390 - 384: A Glance After More Than Two Years
By the time the family doctor came to give Jing Jihan an anti-inflammatory shot and check his wound, it was already past eight-thirty at night. After seeing the family doctor out, Shi Su checked the time and prepared to leave.
"My leave from ’Shadow Kill’ ends tomorrow, I’ll come by in the morning, but the day after I have to return to the crew to continue filming. If we finish early in the evening, I’ll come over; if not, and it’s nighttime scenes, get in touch with Hui to come and take care of you, or I can call Mrs. Qin," Shi Su said, grabbing her phone and bag, getting ready to head out.
The man had just gotten a shot on the back of his hand, still covered with a white translucent medical tape. He slowly stepped out of the bedroom: "Wait."
Shi Su turned around: "What? I’m here to take care of the patient, not planning to stay overnight. It’s already past eight-thirty."
Jing Jihan gestured with his chin towards the bathroom in the bedroom: "I can’t bathe conveniently."
Shi Su paused: "...The doctor just said that you shouldn’t touch water these days, and your hand just got a shot, so it’s best not to touch water for 24 hours."
"That’s why I need you to help me wash."
"Help you?" Shi Su’s eyes filled with astonishment and confusion, even angry indignation: "Jing Jihan, don’t go too far!"
He wasn’t affected at all by her furious expression: "I haven’t showered since the incident. It’s rare to be home, can’t sleep without washing."
"I wiped you down in the hospital for the past two days."
"That was just wiping."
"..."
Shi Su was fuming.
"I’m not helping you bathe, whether you can sleep or not, I’ve done all I could. You figure it out yourself." Shi Su couldn’t be bothered with this suddenly fussy master, looped her bag’s chain around her wrist, bowed her head, and kept on changing her shoes.
After changing her shoes, she opened the door and walked out without looking back.
Standing in front of the elevator, watching the ascending numbers, until the elevator stopped at the thirty-second floor and the door opened.
Shi Su’s steps seemed to be stuck in place for a moment.
Then she closed her eyes briefly, suddenly turned around, and went back.
Opening the door, she saw the man actually thinking she wasn’t coming back, was deftly unbuttoning his shirt, albeit with some difficulty, but apparently determined not to just sleep like that.
Though his cleanliness wasn’t extreme, it was severe enough. Having just been discharged today and taken a plane, he might genuinely be unable to sleep without a bath.
Upon hearing the door open again, Jing Jihan turned to look at her, his hand still paused at the half-unbuttoned shirt.
Shi Su shut the door with a "bang," set down her bag, rolled up her sleeves, and walked toward him with an expression like she was about to start a fight, grabbing him by the arm, half pulling, half supporting him into the bathroom.
"How should I wash?" She glanced at the showerhead and then the bathtub, turning her head to ask him, whether to soak or shower.
"Either is fine, as long as the wound is avoided." Jing Jihan wasn’t surprised by her returning.
Shi Su was about to retort but it seemed like it was her responsibility as the person taking care of him.
She pouted, glanced at his shirt again, paused only for a second before raising her hand to continue unbuttoning it. When removing the shirt, her gaze met his firm, muscular body, she lifted an eyebrow, thought, it’s not like she hasn’t seen it before, what’s the big deal.
Her hand moved to his waist.
Having wiped him down in the hospital was nothing, now didn’t matter either.
After several rounds of psychological preparation, she kept her gaze fixed on his ribbed muscles that rose and fell with breath, deliberately looking only at his skin, not elsewhere, swiftly unfastening his pants...
To prevent the wound from getting wet, Shi Su specifically found some plastic wrap, cut it into square shapes, covered his wound with it and taped it on, did the same for the spot on his hand where he got the shot, ensuring that as long as they were careful, water wouldn’t get in, then turned on the shower and checked the water temperature.
As she recalled, every time after such incidents, Jing Jihan would carry her into the bathroom for a shower, including when she had a neck injury, he had helped her wash too. But it seemed she hadn’t done this much, if ever.
Water ran from his head to the neck, from the shoulder blades to the arms, then slid downward...
Past memories inadvertently surfaced before her eyes.
Shi Su held the showerhead tighter, keeping her posture low as if nothing was wrong, helping him rinse, then turned to grab some body wash.
Jing Jihan was cooperative, didn’t say much, but Shi Su could clearly feel although her head was lowered, a pair of eyes above her head kept watching her.
She didn’t want to look up at him but she was in the middle of bathing him, inevitably needing to say, "Turn sideways, I need to carefully wash around the wound."
Saying this, she finally lifted her eyes, meeting the man’s gaze.
Shi Su quickly looked away, and as he cooperated by turning sideways, she hurriedly washed around the wound carefully, confirming that no water splashed on the wound. She breathed a small sigh of relief and continued rinsing.
Afterward, she removed the plastic wrap from around the wound, fetched the robe, helped him put it on, didn’t bother tying the belt, leaving it for him.
She turned to tidy up the bathroom items, looked back to see him slowly tying the belt, then asked, "So how was it, mister? Washed well enough for you? Any compliments?"
The man glanced at her: "Not bad, skilled."
"?"
What does he mean by skilled?
She was asking about the bath.
It took Shi Su a few seconds to realize what he meant.
That she helped him get undressed and bathed without blushing, very adept?
She glared at him, thinking she had once seen it before, after more than two years, looked a couple times, treated it as a gain, hardly any loss.
But she said aloud: "Just this once, I’ve truly done my duty; there’s nothing left to repay. You can’t keep clinging to me, Mr. Jing, using that injury to extort me, really unnecessary."
Jing Jihan: "The one with a bloody hole in the back is me, seen and touched was me, don’t make it sound like you’re taking a huge loss. Why not try being stuck in a hospital for two days not able to bathe?"
Shi Su: "..."
She put the bathroom items back into place, thinking of him saying he was seen and touched, decisively squeezed some hand sanitizer, vigorously washing her hands several times in front of him, then turned to go out, from her bag pulling out eyedrops she used to relieve eye fatigue during night filming.
Jing Jihan saw her tilting her head to apply the eyedrops and asked, "What’s that for?"
Shi Su didn’t look at him: "Washing my eyes."
Saying this, she opened the door.
With a "bang," she shut the door and left.
