Chapter 696:
Chapter 696:
Even though it was already past midnight.
The woman still had on delicate makeup.
The qipao on her body wrapped every curve of her perfect figure.
"They say the new Municipal Government Secretary General Carter is pretty handsome. Seeing you today, you really are something else. No wonder Talia's been tempted. Just one look and I can feel some ripples in my own heart too."
Irene pressed her lips together and laughed.
She spoke with a sultry expression.
"You're Irene?"
Dirk Carter asked.
Irene covered her mouth with a laugh and said, "Looks like Talia already told you who I am. Secretary General Carter, interested in grabbing a late-night snack together? After supper, maybe we can do some other things we both like to do."
"I appreciate the offer. I'm here for one thing only: hand over everyone who bullied Eve Vincent and I'll leave right away."
Dirk Carter said.
Irene didn't show the slightest panic.
She asked, "And if I don't hand them over?"
"If you don't, I'll wipe out The Maplewood Gang."
When Dirk Carter said this, his voice didn't ripple at all, like he was talking about something perfectly ordinary.
"Hahaha…"
Irene burst out laughing.
The young guys surrounding them followed her and started laughing as well.
"Wipe out The Maplewood Gang? You've got a big mouth, Secretary General Carter. You just got to Rexton City and don't know a thing. I won't blame you for talking big. Go back to where you came from and I'll pretend nothing happened. If you can't listen to me, then sorry, don't blame The Maplewood Gang for not being polite."
Irene said coolly.
Dirk Carter smiled faintly.
He asked, "You think I don't dare?"
"Hahaha… Secretary General Carter, do you even know what The Maplewood Gang does? You're just a small City Government Secretary. Can you handle the consequences of what you're about to do?"
When Irene finished speaking—
"Even if the sky falls, I, Dirk Carter, will hold it up."
Dirk Carter finished in a low, cold voice.
He swung his hand.
At the front gate, several dozen men surged in.
Irene had thought he only brought three or four people. Seeing this many all of a sudden, she was instantly stunned.
"Y–You… what are you going to do?"
She took a step back in fear.
"Last chance. Hand over the ones who hurt Eve Vincent."
Dirk Carter said, his eyes dark and gloomy.
From this setup, it didn't look like an empty threat.
Looks like he was going to do this for real.
Irene had lost her earlier composure. She pointed at Dirk Carter and shouted, "Dirk Carter, don't you dare. The ones who touched Talia are all high officials' sons. If you really arrest them, you think you can still survive in Rexton City?"
"You talk too much! Take them all! Anyone who resists, make sure he leaves here on a stretcher."
As soon as Dirk Carter gave the order—
Ewan Forrest and Rose Forrest waved their hands.
The several dozen men behind them charged straight at The Maplewood Gang's people.
Those young punks were used to throwing their weight around, afraid of neither heaven nor earth. They grabbed clubs and swung them right at Dirk Carter's men.
In an instant, the courtyard was a complete mess.
Cries of pain rang out everywhere.
In just a few moves—
The dozen or so guys who'd rushed out first had all been subdued by Dirk Carter's men.
"Turkey, get in here."
Dirk Carter barked.
Turkey walked in from outside, shaking with fear.
Dirk Carter pointed at the ones who'd been restrained.
He said, "Any of these the ones who hurt Eve Vincent?"
Turkey's eyes swept over them.
He pointed them out one by one.
The six who had defiled Eve Vincent were all identified.
Dirk Carter walked up to one of the young men.
Both of the young man's hands were pinned by Dirk Carter's people.
Dirk Carter asked, "You turning yourself in, or do I send you to the Public Security Bureau?"
"Fuck your mother, what the hell are you? You know who the fuck I am? Telling me to go to the cops? In your next life, maybe…"
The young man's tone was full of swagger.
He shouted at Dirk Carter.
Dirk Carter chuckled.
He patted the young man on the shoulder.
He said, "Kid, you talk like that to other people, maybe they'd really be scared. But you say that to me and you're the one who's going to suffer. You're too hotheaded, so I'll help you cool down."
As soon as the words left his mouth—
Dirk Carter slammed a punch straight into the young man's lower abdomen.
He put a lot of force into that punch.
The young man's expression instantly froze.
His face went deathly pale.
His body curled up reflexively.
He trembled nonstop.
He kept gasping sharply for air.
He couldn't even scream.
"Any of you willing to turn yourselves in voluntarily?"
Dirk Carter raised his voice at the other five.
The five of them were the same.
Even after watching their buddy get hit, they still kept a fearless look and cursed him out with filthy mouths.
Dirk Carter sighed and said, "I really don't get you. Something that could've been solved so easily, and you insist on asking for pain."
As soon as he said that—
His men moved.
Some were pinned to the ground and beaten with fists and feet.
Some were clubbed over and over until they lost control of their bowels.
In short—
The courtyard filled with screams of agony.
Anyone who didn't know better would think the place was haunted in the middle of the night.
"Do you admit you were wrong?"
Dirk Carter walked up to the first young man and asked softly.
The young man, who'd taken the first punch, had more or less recovered by now.
He gritted his teeth and said, "Dirk Carter, you'll die a miserable death. I'll kill you, I'll fucking kill you."
"Sigh, I gave you a chance and you still blew it. Looks like I shouldn't have been soft-hearted with you lot."
Dirk Carter glanced back at Ewan Forrest.
Ewan Forrest gave a slight nod.
He fired up a motorcycle parked in the courtyard.
Then—
A few of the men tied the young man's hands with a rope.
The other end of the rope was fastened to the back of the motorcycle.
That finally scared the young man.
His eyes filled with terror as he asked, "What are you doing? What are you doing?"
Dirk Carter turned his gaze to Irene in the center.
He said, "Relax, grit your teeth and it'll be over before you know it. I'm not trying to do anything special—just want to see if you Maplewood punks have bones as hard as your mouths."
When he finished—
Ewan Forrest revved the bike.
The sudden pull jerked the young man off his feet and slammed him to the ground.
Ewan Forrest rode the motorcycle in circles around the courtyard.
The young man was dragged behind the bike, scraping and rolling across the ground.
In no time, his clothes were worn through, then the skin on his face, his arms, his thighs, and his back.
The sight was downright horrific.
At first he could still tough it out, still cursing through gritted teeth.
After only two or three laps—
He went completely silent.
When the bike finally stopped, everyone could see that the loudmouth had turned into a man-shaped piece of raw meat.
He was barely breathing.
The arrogance from earlier was gone without a trace.
"Who's up next?"
Dirk Carter pointed at the other five one by one.
