Chapter 486 - 486
Chapter 486 - 486
That night.
Carly Lambert took a bus back to her rental apartment after work.
Originally, she stayed at the company dormitory, but the place was too obvious; Cheney Marshall could find her easily if he just asked around a bit. At Dirk Carter's suggestion, she moved out.
A one-bedroom apartment.
Living here was much more comfortable than the company dormitory.
After getting home.
Carly went into the bathroom, took a shower, and changed into a light, airy nightdress. Just as she was about to prepare dinner, there was a knock at the door.
She opened the door to see.
Dirk Carter standing at the doorway, smiling, asked, "What's on for tonight to entertain me, huh?"
Carly smiled and said, "Come in quickly, it's cold outside. Sit for a while; dinner will be ready soon."
Near the New Year.
Indeed, the temperature here was much colder than Serenity State.
Walking into the room warmed by the heater, it was much more comfortable.
Sitting on the sofa for a short while.
A few dishes were then brought to the table.
The two chatted and laughed while eating, enjoying the cozy atmosphere.
After dinner.
While Carly was washing the dishes, Dirk suddenly walked up from behind, wrapping his arms around her waist, whispering, "Forget about the dishes, let's get down to business."
Carly immediately put down the dish she was holding.
Washed her hands briefly.
Turned around, leaning her face against Dirk's, she shyly asked, "Can we start now?"
Dirk glanced toward the window and said, "The timing is just right."
With those words.
His hands started wandering over Carly's body.
Dirk's head fervently kissed Carly's neck as she heard his faint voice by her ear: "Get into it a bit; it's a live broadcast."
Hearing this.
Carly responded with a soft hum.
Whispered, "Are we turning the act into reality?"
Dirk chuckled softly and said, "It's not my loss, so it's up to if you dare."
Carly embraced Dirk tightly, also provocatively asking, "If you dare, so do I. Who's afraid of whom?"
Before the words were even finished.
She grabbed Dirk's head and pressed her warm lips onto his.
Their lips and teeth entwined fervently.
Dirk hadn't expected Carly to be so bold.
It was initially just for show.
Her tongue slipped into his mouth, swirling with force.
Oh.
Was it really a challenge?
If that's the case, then why hold back?
Dirk began responding as well.
The two were intoxicated, gradually losing themselves in the moment.
As their hands traveled over each other's bodies, touching and exploring, their clothes gradually came off.
Just as Carly's breathing began to quicken.
With a flush spreading across her face.
Dirk suddenly stopped and looked outside the window, saying, "He's gone, should be coming over."
At that moment, for some unknown reason, Carly felt a bit of disappointment.
Their previous state of "losing themselves" was all an act because it was a pre-planned setup by Dirk.
During the days that Carly stayed in the company dormitory, Cheney would frequently come by to harass her. Later, when she moved into this apartment, Dirk had Carly purposely leave traces for Cheney.
As expected, within days.
Cheney found Carly's new residence.
To keep an eye on her at all times.
He rented a room opposite her apartment window.
All of this was exposed under Ewan Forrest's tracking of Cheney.
Only he was unaware of it.
Thus, the recent passion between the two was "broadcasted" for Cheney to see.
This was the only way to force him to appear.
Knock, knock, knock, a series of intense knocks echoed.
"Who is it?"
Carly asked.
Knock, knock, knock.
The knocking continued.
Carly glanced at Dirk and deliberately shouted, "Coming, coming, stop knocking."
As soon as the door was unlocked.
With a bang, Cheney forcibly pushed it open, barging in directly, glaring viciously at Dirk.
At this moment, Dirk was just wearing a pair of briefs, legs crossed, asking, "Who are you?"
"You're sleeping with my wife, and you have the nerve to ask who I am?"
Cheney yelled, placing his hands on his hips.
Dirk furrowed his brow and asked, "Your wife? Who?"
"Her, Carly Lambert, who else can it be?"
Cheney shouted, full of bluster.
"Cheney, since when am I your wife? I've already broken up with you, okay? Please leave, stop bothering me."
Carly said.
Cheney let out a cold laugh and said, "You broke up with me, did I agree? You sl*t, it's only been three months, and here you are hooking up with another man. I'm telling you, if you want to break up, I need break-up compensation; otherwise, I'll expose you both right here and now."
Dirk smiled knowingly.
Cheney took the bait.
This was exactly the effect he wanted.
He stood up.
Asked, "How much do you want?"
Cheney thought his threat was indeed effective, boldly sticking out a hand and saying, "Five hundred thousand!"
"Five hundred thousand? You're joking, right? You might as well rob instead."
Dirk said.
Cheney also felt that his price was a bit too high.
He said, "If you can't give me five hundred thousand, three hundred thousand will do."
Expecting Dirk to still think it was too high, he unexpectedly said, "Three hundred thousand? Okay!"
Hearing this, Cheney was overjoyed, barely suppressing his urge to laugh, and said, "Give me the money now, and that sl*t Carly is yours. I promise I won't bother you again."
"Alright, I'll give it to you now."
Dirk, as soon as he finished speaking.
Threw a punch at Cheney's face.
Without a miss.
It landed right on his eye.
Cheney blacked out.
Thud, he fell to the floor.
Dirk wasn't done yet, straddling his head, raining punches down like raindrops, and in the blink of an eye, Cheney's once handsome face looked no different from a pig's head.
This guy stood no chance against Dirk.
Begging for mercy with wailing cries.
Dirk finally stopped beating him, pointing at his nose angrily, "Let me tell you, I'm the Minister of Organization of Koryn City, my name is Dirk Carter. From now on, stay away from Carly. If you dare show up making trouble again, every time I see you, I'll beat you. Got it?"
Cheney, with a crying tone, nodded repeatedly, saying, "Got it, got it, I won't dare anymore."
"Now get out!"
Dirk kicked his butt again.
Cheney scrambled out of the apartment.
When Cheney disappeared, Dirk shut the door, bursting into laughter, muttering, "Feels good! Teaching this bastard a lesson is satisfying."
However, Carly had no trace of a smile on her face.
She initially thought Dirk had a clever plan.
To her disappointment, it turned out to be the most crude method.
A sense of disillusionment welled up inside.
"What's wrong? You don't seem too happy? I just beat him up for you; that's some relief, right?"
Dirk asked.
Carly glanced at Dirk, heaved a long sigh, and said, "Minister Carter, this won't work. He's a scoundrel. Beating him up once won't make him give up. Next, he might tear the mask off completely."
Dirk smiled slightly.
And said, "That's exactly what I want, for him to tear the mask off completely..."
