Chapter 297: … Why did it have to be these?

[No new signs of the type of Mana that was used.]

Ale had been going through all the data she had gotten after her encounter, both before and after she commanded Main Core to do a more thorough scan around her.

Turns out, Main Core was... also more independent with his actions, Ale wasn't that sure about how she felt about this, since Main Core had been monitoring more than she had expected her to do.

And the data that Main Core provided, she did so with a cheeky smirk in that bird beak of hers. So yeah, that was fun.

"Fine, keep combing the ambient mana samples we took." Ale sighed inwardly as she continued moving on.

Before leaving that alleyway Ale had taken in a deep breath of air and commanded all her Nanites to take samples from the ambient Mana around.

She filled her lungs as much as possible and had Main Core going all over every single particle of Mana and air that shes had gotten, the expected Time to finish that was... quite long.

Main Core had refused to give her an estimated time since it was quite literally combing through thousands upon thousands of particles, both of the contents of the atmospheric data and the mana particle data.

[If the data is found before the full spectrum analysis is done, then that will be that.]

Is what Ale got from Main Core as she walked the streets, not many was turning to look at her or even acknowledge her. As it was normal, even before she had left not many had acted this way.

Everyone around her acted as if she was the most mundane thing, or well, not the most mundane thing. But a normal girl walking the streets of Columbus Ohio.

As far as she remembered, before no matter how much she tried or how she dressed, at least a couple would turn to stare at her, as it was normal when one caught sight of the prettiest of them all....

"AAAAAGGGHHHHH!!" Ale screamed as she covered her face and felt herself blush slighty, she had been so confident when saying those words before.

And she believed them still, she had seen herself on the mirror, and knew herself how she looked, she was pretty. But to say aloud that she was the prettiest of them all?

That was something else.

She still believed it of course, but even so.

It was kinda awkward to think about, so she would not think about it. At all.

"Mommy, is that girl okay?" "Shush, Tiffany, she is a delinquent, stay away from her."

...Well, that was cliché as one could get.

Ale decided that this was perhaps not the best moment to deal with that, so instead she stood up, ignored the odd looks that were coming her way and started walking as fast as it was humanly possible.

Not as fast as she could move, since her body was way above than the standard human around her, but still faster than she would usually move.

[Mistress, there are a few mana-dense signatures in the building to your left.]

Ale of course didn't turn to look at the building, but instead made note to check on that at another time. Her internal map of the city had the place marked as a library with a gym on the second floor.

The weirdest combination of businesses around, but who was Ale to complain about building design?

Either way she continued moving down the street walking straight to the nearby bus stop.

It wasn't that far thanks to the design of the city, but it was still a few minutes walk. But by that point the people that had given her weird glances had left so most of those around were nonchallant about what Ale was doing.

So she spent that Time browsing her phone and sending messages to get confirmations from [Big Sister] and [Golem] that they were available and waiting for her at the apartment.

Apparently, they were waiting for her at [Big Sister]'s apartment, since hers was... vacated.

Ale already knew that of course, but for some reason she had thought that they would have the apartment empty and waiting for her, perhaps with some of the furniture.

Not that it changed much about what she would do.

[Mistress, the vehicle you are waiting for will arrive within forty-seven minutes.]

[The local database indicates that by pressing the button at the side, the vehicle will prioritize coming in this direction in case no one else within the vehicle has a stop scheduled.]

Ale nodded and pushed the button.

At the side of the button was an explanation and a QR Code for her phone, it would install an app for the bus that was coming, apparently you could schedule stops for it and the app would send it to the driving AI.

Because of course it was automated with a local AI. One that...

"Is that the same emblem the planes had?" Ale couldn't help but voice that aloud.

[Correct, emblem is 95% similar to the one stored within host's memories.]

"So Iskander is the one in charge of this..." Ale said nodding, "That or a sub AI under that one."

Ale was not sure what she expected, but whatever it was, she should have suspected this would be what was going to happen. Either way, she waited.

And after a few minutes, the bus arrived as expected, this one was... kidna empty-ish. Besides her there was only a couple other people aboard it. So Ale merely sat on a nearby seat and ignored the other people.

Ale focused mostly on her phone and waited for the bus to continue on its route, from what the app was telling Ale, this one was a semi direct route, since it would adjust itself to the needs of the people aboard it.

It needed a subscription for use, which Ale didn't need to pay since she had logged using the phone that Alexanders had provided, so she had free premium access to all the services.

"Hmm.... I thought you had reserved this one," The voice of a woman sounded annoyed, it made Ale's blood turn cold and at the same Time made her brain slowly turn and analyze what she remembered before sitting. "We have a brat sitting on this thing."

"Stop it," The voice of a male older person said next, "We are about to arrive to the library, so perhaps the bus AI decided that it was acceptable."

"It is not," The woman complained, "I want privacy, you may not care about this. But I find it annoying when they come fawning over me."

Fawning? Ale? To her?

She would never forget that annoying shrill voice, Ale was doing her best to not move. To not react, she had even started sending a rush of several orders to Main Core.

So that was a bust.

Ale had asked Main Core to check a few simulations for her to act.

"Hey?" The woman snapped her fingers, "You there? Don't pretend you don't recognize us, this idiot doesn't ever wear a mask, and my beauty is unparalleled."

The most beautiful person this city had seen was Alexandra, not her.

"Drop it," The male voice said once again, "I'm sorry about this. I had reserved the bus to prevent this. I apologize on my companion's side, you don't have to interact with us if you don't want."

"Of course she wants, look at her, pretending she doesn't know. With her phone out." The woman said dismissively, "She must be recording with the selfie mode of the camera, I bet she is waiting for us to leave so she can take a front shot and back shot of us."

"... I know you yes." Ale ended up saying as she stood up and turned to them. "Remove all safeguards to the design, I only need to shoot it, it doesn't matter how much stress or how much damage it does to me. I can take it."

[That is not-]

"DO IT!"

"You are [Chrysalis]." Ale said, turning her phone towards them so they could see it, "I only have the bus app open, I had not used one of these before, so I was looking at the options."

"See?" The man said sighing, "If you give us your number or email, we can send some complementary-"

"Well, let's get this over then." [Chrysalis] interrupted the man again, "I do not sign merchandise, I will not sign your body. I will not sign your tits, ass, thigh, forehead, or neck."

"I will not bite, kiss, spit or kick you." [Chrysalis] carried on speaking nonsense after nonsense. "Nor will I let you breathe or kiss where I sat."

[Calculation finished, Time to create Anzo20mm rifle with no regard to host life or wellfare: 4 seconds.]

"I will make a barrier and stick you to that place for at least five hours." [Chrysalis] said and smirked, "And that is as close as you will get to me, so get it over. If I find that you schlicked to the feeling of my barrier around your body, the next Time I see you then I will fix your arms in place."

"[Chrysalis]!" The man screamed from beside the derranged woman, "She is a child!"

"She is a teenager," [Chrysalis] said pointing at Ale, "She is old enough to do that. I know I was doing it at her age."

"... You truly are a sick woman." Ale said shaking her head, "I am not a fan of yours, not do I want to be anywhere near you."

"Oho..." [Chrysalis] smirked, "Sure you are, so you feel nothing at seeing this? Right."

The derranged woman said moving her hands above her body, as if she was trying to put some focus to her chest and hips. She did not have much going for her, but then again, Ale had memories from the POV of Alexandra from before they fully separated.

"I saw your video attack on that Minion." Ale let that out in one go, "And then saw the other videos of you attacking female Minion and villains."

"So what, they are criminals. I am protecting the well-being of you civilians." [Chrysalis] said, frowning, "Or what, are you a criminal sympathizer? Is that it? You, an auditor, wanting to get me on camera committing a crime? Is that why you have your phone out in the open?"

*Crash*

Ale didn't let the woman finish that phrase, she crushed her phone in one go. Parts of the device gave her wounds and a few warnings from Main Core.

Ale wondered how much of that was truth, since she was not feeling that much pain from it.

"So?" Ale asked with a vicious smile on her face, "Does this also give you the idea that I care about you? That I would go out of my way to record you?"

"... It tells me you are into BDSM." [Chrysalis] stated.

"...*Sigh*" The man beside [Chrysalis] shook his head, "Let me introduce myself. I am [SuperForce]."

The man said as his body flashed in white light and the uniform that Ale had seen as Alexa materialized on the man.

"This woman as you have said is [Chrysalis], we are registered Super Heroes and Sidekick." [SuperForce] then pointed at [Chrysalis], "We ask you for your forgiveness. I can promise that she will not be a problem nor will she use her powers on you against your will. We live to ensure you are safe from the dangers that are in the dark."

"Yeah yeah," [Chrysalis] said mocking [Superforce] as she moved her hand as if it was a puppet speaking, "You will be safe from those evil hideous devious ugly minions and villains. Aren't you happy? You can get all fuzzy and angry at me and I still need to protect you! Does that get you off? Are your panties wet?"

[Mistress, there is some possibility that subject Chrysalis is attempting to rise you into doing something-]

"I know she is taunting me to attack her!" Ale screeched back internally, "This bastard must know or suspect me!"

[Perhaps a strategic retreat is in order?]

Was that all she could do? Retreat? Ignore this woman?

Ale wanted nothing else than rip her apart and fuck her skull, even if she couldn't physically do that... Unless...

No, she would not think about that, she was not going to turn into a degenerate like her.

"I will even save you if the Saintsworths kidnap you and squirrel you away!" [Chrysalis] said as she laughed, "Ain't I a nice Heroine? Ain't I the best?"

"We are leaving here." [SuperForce] said shaking his head.

"We are still five blocks away." [Chrysalis] said confused, "I thought we were going to the base."

"Not anymore we aren't, you exposed us. We can't enter in this form anymore." [Superforce] turned to look at Ale, "I'm so sorry about you finding out about how [Chrysalis] is."

"You... rescuing me from the Saintsworths?" Ale asked as she started laughing, "You? You alone? Or with the help of [SuperForce]?"

"...You don't think I would?" [Chrysalis] said frowning, "You think I am scared of the Saintsworths? Of that know-it-all smug asshole?"

[Chrysalis]'s figure flashed in purple light as the armor she had worn before when she fought against Alexandra materialized.

"Do not test me... civilian." [Chrysalis] glared at Ale.

But Ale merely smiled as she raised her right arm, the arm that had the golden bracelet that she had been given by Alexanders.

"Do you know what this means?" Ale said as the eyes of [Chrysalis] turned into questioning ones.

"Oh god...you truly are this stupid." Ale said as she laughed more, "Iskander, stop the bus."

The reaction to her statement was immediate, the bus stopped. In the middle of the street, the sound of a truck's horn as the screech of brakes sounded outside.

The bus had truly stopped in the middle.

"Mistress... How long do you need us to stop?" The voice of a young girl sounded from the speakers, "We are rerouting and signaling for traffic officers to divert the other vehicles. But a timetable would be appreciated."

"Not now." Ale said, "If someone complains, send that complaint to the idiot who gave me this thing."

"...Noted, we will be rerouting the complaints to... the appropriate figures." Iskander finished the connection, Ale did got a data packet but she shunted it towards Main Core.

"...A Saintsworths." It was not [Chrysalis] the one to speak this Time, but [SuperForce] whose demeanour turned from the amicable Hero to a serious person who was now evaluating Ale. "...A scion? No, I would know you. First Time in the bus... A foreign one then? This bus does not touch any Saintsworths sectors. So you came to intercept me?"

"I...I..." [Chrysalis] seemed unsure about how to react, was she regretting all she had said before? Ale couldn't help but smirk dismisivelly at her now, which made her turn red, probably angry.

Ale hoped she would have her blood pressure rise something inside that deranged head of hers.

"Not now [Chrysalis]," [Superforce] said placing a hand on the deranged woman's shoulder, "Return first."

And before the woman could react again, she left the bus, in a straight line. Upwards.

She shot off straight up with no warning or even saying anything.

[Detected Mana interference.]

[Subject SuperForce forcibly injected Mana into subject Chrysalis.]

"So, here you have me Saintsworths." [SuperForce] turned to Ale, his presence turning... heavier, "State your business."
