Chapter 875 The Last Mission: Opening Up

Day Ninety-One...

"Tell me everything. What did Vincent and Monica do to you?" Nathan asked her again. The smile on Jane's lips disappeared at the mention of those names.

"I can't. I want to gain your trust so that you can love me. But I don't want you to pity me. Loving me is different from pitying me, Nate." Jane lowered her gaze, biting her lower lip.

This time Jane looked vulnerable in front of him. Her playfulness was gone.

Nathan's heart constricted, watching her sad expression.

"I'm not pitying you." Nathan softly said, lifting her chin so that she could look him in the eyes. "I want to hear your story. Your past. Because I am interested in you. I want to understand you more..."

Jane was taken aback for a moment upon hearing his sincere words.

"I feel responsible. You said.. my half-brother planned his revenge against me. This means... you got involved because of your connection with me." Nathan gently caressed her cheeks, reassuring her.

"So I am here... asking you to share your burdens with me. I wanna know everything about you... including your ugly past."

Jane could no longer resist him. His comforting words encouraged her to open up with him. She took a deep breath, mustering up her courage.

"At first, Vincent approached me... pretending to be you. He introduced himself as Sizzling August, using a hyper-realistic mask."

Nathan clenched his teeth as he continued to listen to her.

"But Vincent and Monica were already a couple at that time. Vincent approaching me made Monica jealous and she began scheming against me, afraid that I would steal Vincent from her."

Nathan's expression turned grim as he could imagine the deception Vincent did to get Jane's trust. 'How dare he use me to approach Jane! I won't forgive him for that.'

"When I said I would settle everything... I was referring to Monica. She did a lot of wicked acts and unforgivable things that made me want to kill her myself." A cold glint flashed through her eyes as she recalled everything.

"After that, she even asked her men to rape me... But Vincent arrived, stopping them." Jane smiled bitterly as she recalled it.

"But his arrival was not my salvation. Do you know why?" Nathan narrowed his eyes, his chilly aura emanating from his body.

"After breaking my spirit... they broke my heart next," Jane said meaningfully.

"Vincent was wearing his disguise at that time. I thought he was you... My Sizzling August."

"Monica made me believe that you felt nothing for me. That you only saw me as a plaything. They made out in front of me, fucking each other as I watched them."

"That time I resented you so much. I questioned your sincerity to me. I wondered why you did it to me. Why did you hurt me like that? But my sufferings didn't end there."

"I was in the process of healing. Despite those traumatic experiences, I decided to give birth to Ethan... I can't kill the innocent child in my womb. But Monica and Vincent had stolen him from me, making me believe that my son died in my womb."

"Losing him... I decided to kill myself. Mrs. Frost and Stephen saved me over and over again. Until they decided to erase my memories about my experience with Vincent and Monica, including my pregnancy with Ethan. Those are the memories Stephen erased so that I could continue living."

Jane stopped talking and the room was engulfed by the deafening silence. She didn't dare look at Nathan, afraid to see his facial expression.

'Does he hate me now? Does he feel disgusted with me?'

Nathan stayed silent but his heart was filled with turmoil. He was mad and was ready to kill someone for Jane. His heart was in pain because of her. He didn't expect that Jane would suffer like this.

At that certain moment, Nathan swore to himself. 'I will avenge her. I will get the justice she deserves.'

"Nate... that's my story. Do you pity me? Or do you feel disgusted–" Jane wasn't able to finish her words as Nathan suddenly pulled her into a tight embrace.

Then he gently rubbed her back while stroking her hair. "I said... I don't pity you or feel disgusted by your story." Nathan tightened his grip on her body. Then he lifted her chin to see her face.

Jane was dumbfounded when she saw Nathan's gentle smile.

"Thank you for trusting me and sharing your burdens with me. You are my responsibility now." Nathan uttered sincerely.

Even before Jane could say a word, Nathan already moved his head down, capturing her lips with his mouth. He kissed her tenderly and passionately.
