When Love is not enough

You aren't an angel

You aren't an angel

Meanwhile, Jack was angry at his parents at home. What do they care, he should force himself on a woman who doesn't know how to love or be kind and doesn't understand it when you express it to her.

“I can't marry that spoiled arrogant brat, dad. You need to stay around that woman and know that besides beauty and position, there's nothing else to be admired in her. She wields power and only knows how to dominate…” Jack was saying when his mother interrupted him.

“If you keep your focus on her flaws, how can you see the beauty of her personality? I've known this girl since she was little, she cannot all be a red flag all through. You aren't perfect yourself. Stay with her and learn to tolerate. You aren't an angel yourself” Clara cautioned.

There's a side of him that they're helping him to conceal. And yet he could point fingers at someone else. He cannot back out now. He was engaged to Camella and yet got involved with another woman.

“Yes, I am not a saint. I'm not an angel and I have a daughter with the woman I truly love. But that doesn't make me less of a man. I can't get married to a woman like her besides, you both know that I don't love her at all, I love Sona alone” Jack squeaked.

“I don't ever want to hear the name of that woman in this house anymore. Sona and you were not supposed to be together but you got her pregnant and have a daughter with her. It ends there. Be responsible for your daughter and be married to Camella Wood.

This discussion should not come up again. You will get married to Camella Wood or I disowned you. You have to choose to endure her flaws and inherit my fortune or break up your engagement and lose out completely” Kunle declared.

Jack glared at his father. He knows just where his Achilles’s heel was. He threatens him too often with losing out on his inheritance. When Sona became pregnant, he was going to confess to Camella and break up their engagement but his father used the same lines of words to confuse him.

“You will go to see her tomorrow and win her heart. Confess your love for her and make sure you made it convincing enough. I would have preferred if she was the one you impregnated. If you have to lure her to your bed to bring her to submission, do it. I don't give a damn!” Kunle bellowed.

Jack chuckled aloud. Lure her to his bed right? That iron fisted woman and sharp tongue brat has the weakness of being lured? Does she have a cunt or is it all blocked down there?

“And yes, I can help you with some lines of poetic rhythm that will convince her of your confession” Clara added and eyed her son before storming off after her husband. Marrying that girl will be a boost to their finances and status. What can that tramp Sona offer?

Jack sank into the sofa. This is too much. Why can't they see that they are not compatible? Why wouldn't his parents see that their lives would be ruined by that incompatible pairing? They don't think about his happiness, they only care about what they tend to gain if he marries that woman surnamed Wood.

Isn't happiness better preferred than wealth and status? This is a do or die challenge. Come what may, he has to marry that feisty woman either willingly or by responsibility. Can he really lure her to his bed?

***************

In Andre's apartment, Alice was alone. Andre had stepped out. He went to join his team of basketball players. She doesn't understand why he got so addicted to playing basketball all of a sudden. Could it be because he's tall with a muscular body and thinks automatically that basketball should be his choice. He should have been a footballer instead.

She hadn't really been comfortable within her after her son broke the news of his resignation. And to know he got a job in England, doesn't go down well with her. She'd lived her life in N.Y all these years. And now, she'll leave with her son to England? No, she won't.

She has a suggestion, she'll talk to him about it. That way, it will be a win-win benefit. He goes for his job, and she lives happily. It's simple. She only wishes he sees something beautiful about it.

She waited until Andre returned. He went to take a shower and came over for dinner. He was happy, somehow he felt happy and relieved. This is one of the last matches he would play with his team before leaving N.Y.

Midway through the meal, Alice paused and said “Are you really interested in leaving for England or it's just the job?”. If it's the job, he could get another one in N.Y, he wouldn't need to go that far. And if he really wants to relocate, then she can't help it.

“To be a candid mom, I really want to relocate. I haven't recovered from what Jasmine did to me. I loved her and I still can't believe she'd slipped off my hands forever. And now, my employer did this whole shit to me, I'm fed up.

I think I have overstayed my welcome in N.Y. I need to have a breath of fresh air. I need a change of everything. Leave everything, people and environment that reminds me of the woman I love” Andre confessed.

“She's not the woman you should still think about in terms of love. She's your worst nightmare. She's a flirt and betrayer” Alice scowled. How can he still think so highly of Regina's daughter? That woman whose mother scratched her face?

“No one is allowed to use filthy words on Jasmine, not even you mom” Andre bellowed, his eyes going reddened.
