Obsidian Alpha

Chapter 51

Chapter 51

Morena’s P O V

Every thing hurt. Every single inch of my body was pulsing with agony. I was not dead. The waves of pain going through me with every breath I take were the only sign of that. Was I still down the pit? Now I was not. I was on a bed. It felt comfortable. There was no way I was still on that hard dirt floor. How did I get into a bed. I try to pry my eyes open but my head throbs with pain. I decide to go back to sleep. maybe it was better not to wake up and see where I am. To go back to my harsh reality.

I was awake again. Thsi time I was able to open my eyes slightly.

“SHe has been unconscious for over four days. When the hell is she going to wake up?” I hear harsh whispering and I could tell it was Leander from the tone of his voice.

“The doctor said she is pretty battered up, Leander but she is gradually improving. She will wake up eventually you just have to wait.” The other person replies. I could not tell if it was Asmund or Asher. But I doubt Leander would be talking to anyone but one of these two.

“Water.” I breathe out with a barely audibile voice and I hear shifting around me.

“Morena, you are awake!” Leander comes into my field of vision. and my whole being fills with the desire to flee away from him but I was barely to open my eyes. I doubted I could run away.

“Water.” I repeat closing my eyes.

“Of course.” He says. I hear him shifting before I feel straw placed near my lips. I struggle to even open my mouth. It takes me a few attempts before I can actually inhale some water in and it was a real struggle to swallow. I moan in pain.

“Are you okay?” He asks and I ignore him. He was the reason I was in this bed hooked to wires in the first place. I decide I had no power to even think about him and I drift back to sleep.

A few days go by just like that. I wake up, struggle to take a few sips of water and go back to sleep. Leander seems to have given up on getting me to talk to him or he does talk to me and I do not hear him. He even gives me water as soon as I wake up now without having to ask for it. I was surprised to find him on my bed side evey time I wake up though. I always woke up at random times. Didn’t he have a pack to take care of?

I was able to sit up slightly a few days later. The poor doctor was taking really good care of me/ I would have fucked things up if I had Leander over my head like a hawk but he was very patient and he answered his questions patiently. He even asked him why I was not talking to him. The doctor said that talking was totally up to me. He indirectly told him that I was purposefully ignoring his existence and I wanted to laugh at that. But I had more urgent things to attend to and thinking about Leander or thinking about him was not one of them.

I was trying to call for OSk or get an answer from her ever since I got first conscious but I still couldn’t. I keep calling for her but I get no answer back. I can not even feel her presence. It’s like her spot is empty. I can not even fathom the possibility that I might have lost her. I would kill Leander if anything happens to Osk. I heard about werewolves losing their wolves before. They were never the same. Some of them even took their own lives. SHe was my friend, a part of me. And I feel like I am missing something without her and her sarcastic

remarks. Did she get hurt after she forced our body to shift? That was the last time I hear her voice. I was barely conscious when she took over. I do not even know if we shifted or not. I was still surprised I survived the fall in the pit in the first place; Me being alive was a miracle. But I did not feel alive without her here. All of the blame for this falls on Leander. He was our mate. My fated other half and he was the first one to hurt me at every chance he got. I begged him to listen to me but he chose to doubt me every step of the way. I overlooked his harsh words and snappy remarks. I chose to see the good within him but he only saw me as a fraud. I was too good for him. No matter how much I miss him. How soft his touch feels now each time he holds my hand while I sleep. Those sparks that erupt in my body only remind me of the pain he put me through now. The pleasure is all forgotten about. I can’t shake the image of his glare as I told him my biggest insecurity. I was not trying to hide it. I just expected the outcome. The fact that he would not believe me no matter what I said. I thought the way we were going, I might have a chance. But who was I kidding? He was dark and twisted. The obsidian monstrous alpha everyone thought him to be. I was doomed from the start to be mated with him. The moon goddess should have mated him with a strong she wolf. Some one who could sustain and survive through the emotional and physical damage he brought upon them. Not poor weak me who had to wait two or three days to heal from a simple knife cut.
