My Mate Has Two Wolves

Chapter 462

Chapter 462

"Mom, the wedding was perfect!" Richard said with a smile as he approached Patricia.

Patricia nodded. "That's good. Unlike the engagement day, when some jerk leaked those absurd rumors at the ceremony. If I find out who it was, I'll give them a piece of my mind."

Richard knew his mother's temper and quickly averted his gaze, gesturing toward Nick. "His leg's injured. I'll help him over."

"I was wondering about that. Nick, what happened to your leg? Who hurt you?" Patricia immediately leaned in with concern.

Nick's face was grim, unresponsive even to his grandmother's care. "I'm fine, Granny. I got to leave now. I don't feel like eating."

"You can't leave after coming all this way. Let your father help you over," Patricia insisted, adhering to tradition that demanded they stay for the meal.

"I can't eat," Nick said, standing up stiffly and limping toward the church exit without Richard's assistance.

Patricia followed a few steps, but Richard stopped her. "Let him be."

"How have you been caring for Nick? How did he get hurt?" Patricia's worry lingered.

Outside the church, Nick's driver stepped forward hurriedly to support him.

Patricia followed and, seeing his dark expression, asked again, "Why are you sulking today? What's wrong? Tell me."

"I'm fine, Granny. Just go back and eat," Nick said, daring not to reveal the truth for fear of another beating.

Watching his car drive away, Patricia sighed before returning to the banquet hall.

Blake and Catherine sat at the head table, surrounded by the bridal party.

The hall was lively with fine dining and wine, guests enjoying themselves to the fullest.

Catherine, along with the bridesmaids, had changed outfits.

She wore a striking red gown, glamorous and eye-catching.

The bridesmaids donned rose-colored dresses, each with unique styles yet equally charming.

As the banquet wound down, the Royal Pack brothers lay drunkenly in the lounge, unwilling to move.

Catherine, seated beside Blake, hadn't touched a drop of alcohol and remained clear-headed.

Blake, sprawled on the sofa, had doffed his suit jacket and loosened his tie, revealing a hint of collarbone.

Catherine gazed intently at her husband's sleeping face, her fingers unconsciously tracing his features.

With a contented sigh, she leaned down and lightly kissed his lips.

"Mm!" Blake seemed to sense her presence, his large hand suddenly grasping the back of her head, gently pressing it closer as if reluctant to let her go.

Catherine froze, thinking he might wake, but he only mumbled a few words before falling back asleep.

She breathed a sigh of relief and gently disentangled his hand.

They often said marriage was exhausting. Only now did Catherine truly understand—just walking a round in high heels left her ankles swollen and red. Clearly, she wasn't cut out for such stilettos.

"Honey?" she whispered.

In the adjacent lounge, Sunny sat beside Leo.

Though not completely intoxicated, Leo still had some clarity.

He glanced at the woman beside him with half-closed, drunken eyes and suddenly reached out, pulling Sunny into his arms.

Sunny stiffened, pushing him away. "If you're drunk, lie still and don't cause trouble!"

"Give me a kiss," Leo demanded unreasonably.

Leo was shamelessly taking advantage again. Sunny was speechless.

However, if she gave in to every request, she'd lose all principles.

Thus, Sunny turned her face away. "No kiss. You should sleep."

"Earlier, you agreed to marry me. Is this how you treat your husband?" Leo, sensing her refusal, felt his longing intensify.

At the banquet, watching her change from a cream-colored chiffon dress to a rose-red off-the-shoulder mini-dress, his eyes hadn't left her for a moment—if not for the journalists and guests present, that kiss would have already happened.

Recalling the proposal, Sunny still harbored some resentment. She turned to glare at him. "Your so-called sincerity was nothing but coercion! How can you be so shameless?"

She knew Leo was deliberate. His sensitivity had detected her hesitation about marrying him—she was still burdened by Olivia and the Royal Pack's feud.

Leo understood her feelings but was genuinely anxious. With Blake's wedding today and their grandfather in high spirits, he hoped that if he, too, got engaged or married, it might improve Emerson's condition.

Clinging to this faint hope, he'd resorted to pressuring her into agreeing.

"You deep-down want to, so why do you torment me like this?" Leo grasped her hand, his fingers tenderly stroking hers as if to infuse her with warmth.

Sunny's expression dimmed as she lowered her gaze to the floor. "If I marry now and Olivia ends up imprisoned, how can I face her? Leo, please give me more time. Let's talk about us after Olivia's matter is settled, okay?"

"What a dutiful woman!" Leo sighed, realizing he was being a bit pushy since he was also acting out of concern for their grandfather.

"Alright, I won't push you. Look at you, on the verge of tears!" Leo forced himself to sit up and lifted her chin with his finger. Seeing her eyes glistening with unshed tears, he knew pressing further would surely make her cry.

Sunny tried in vain to avoid his gaze but was held fast.

Soft lips pressed gently upon hers.
