My Mate Has Two Wolves

Chapter 406

Chapter 406

Third Person's POV

Sunny was flustered and blushing at the thought of what she planned to do that night.

Dusk fell, and Sunny, having eaten her fill, washed her hands.

She pondered how to bathe with her injury and decided to lie in the bathtub.

Seeing Leo busy in his study, likely handling company matters, she didn't want to disturb him and instead sat on the sofa, scrolling through her phone.

At dinnertime, Leo emerged from his study.

Soon after, his assistant delivered dinner.

As a foodie, Sunny eagerly joined Leo at the table, and they enjoyed a harmonious meal together.

Light rain pattered outside, shrouding the distant skyscrapers in mist, creating a poignant winter scene that made one yearn for warmth.

After dinner, Leo, uncharacteristically, cleared the table.

Sunny strolled around the room for some light exercise.

At nine, she decided to bathe, grabbing her pajamas and heading to the bathroom to run hot water.

"I'll do it!" A deep male voice sounded behind her. A large hand swiftly turned on the tap, releasing gushing hot water that warmed the room and filled it with steam.

Sunny's heart raced as Leo stood close behind her, almost touching.

However, Leo, mindful of her injury and not wanting to overstep, merely focused on filling the tub.

"Can you manage on your own? Need help?" Leo asked after adjusting the water temperature.

"No, I can do it myself," Sunny quickly refused, despite her injury.

"Are you sure?" Leo asked again.

"Yes!" Sunny insisted. Though injured, she could still bathe alone.

Leo didn't push further. Noticing her blush, he felt a strange stir but suppressed it, leaving the room slowly.

Sunny soaked in the bathtub, relishing the warmth from the water Leo had prepared.

She mused about Leo's suitability as a husband—his domestic side, lack of scandals, and allure despite his occasional aloofness.

"How can there be such a perfect man? Truly mesmerizing!" she thought, resting her chin on her hand.

After her bath, Sunny emerged in a white robe, her injured arm throbbing with needle-like pain at any movement.

She found Leo drinking on the sofa, looking troubled.

"What's wrong? Did the engagement party go smoothly? I saw the news today," Sunny asked with concern.

"Nothing." Leo replied curtly.

"Who would do such a thing on a day like today? It's outrageous!" Sunny fumed.

"Who else?" Leo sneered, and Sunny knew it was Richard again.

She sighed at his uncle's disruptive nature.

"Good, then!" Sunny breathed a mental sigh of relief. Suddenly, Leo, recalling Nick's earlier provocation, blurted out, "Do you still think I have feelings for Catherine?"

Sunny, taken aback, shook her head. "No way! I think... you might have truly let go of her."

She wasn't entirely sure, remembering the photos she'd taken of them together.

How awkward!

"I just want her and Blake to be happy." Leo took another sip.

"I know." Sunny said trustingly.

Leo turned to her. "The person I like now... seems to be you."

Sunny quivered, thrilled. "Really? What an honor."

As a powerful Alpha, Leo exuded natural authority and dominance.

His deep, magnetic voice declaring his affection was the sweetest love confession, filling Sunny with joy and making her feel ethereal.

With her planned gesture of gratitude looming, her cheeks burned.

She casually glanced at the clock and suggested, "It's pretty late. Why not turn in?"

Leo finished his drink and looked at her gentle face, moved but noticing her injured hand hidden in her sleeve.

He suppressed his desires. "You go ahead. I'll sit a bit longer."

"Join me. Get some rest early," Sunny boldly proposed. In the past, she'd never been so forward, but now, having discovered Leo's hidden warmth, she convinced herself it was okay to take the initiative.

Wasn't this how you showed you liked someone?
