My Mate Has Two Wolves

Chapter 377

Chapter 377

Third Person's POV

"What's the matter?" Leo's eyes stiffened slightly, his expression tensing up.

Sunny lowered her head, hesitated for two seconds, then took a deep breath as if making a decision.

"Is my new phone still with you? There's a recording on it that you can listen to. It's from Olivia to me, and I believe it will be helpful to you," Sunny said in a low voice.

Leo's expression froze for a moment, and he sneered coldly, "I thought you weren't going to bring this up."

Sunny was startled by his words and quickly turned to look at him. "You... you already know?"

Leo nodded. "Yes, I do. I found the recording this morning by accident."

"Ah, then why didn't you come to confront me? I hid it from you again." Sunny's face turned pale with fear.

Leo's face was inscrutable. He then folded his arms across his chest and sat beside her. "I was really angry at first, so angry that I wanted to kill you because you lied to me. But after listening to that recording, I seemed to understand you. Olivia is your family, and you couldn't bear to see her admit guilt. It's only natural."

"Really? You can understand?" A glimmer of joy flickered in Sunny's eyes.

Leo nodded seriously, "I was too angry before to consider things from your perspective. But now that I've calmed down, I can increasingly understand why you wouldn't reveal Olivia's whereabouts."

Sunny didn't expect him to understand her predicament. Her eyes welled up, almost spilling tears.

"Sunny, do you still want to break up with me?" Leo reached out, placing a hand on her slender shoulder, his face turned towards her, his gaze fixed intently on her as he asked.

Sunny was startled by his sudden move and shook her head, "Of course not, I never wanted to."

A smile flickered across Leo's face. "Oh? So that's how it is!"

Sunny couldn't fathom the meaning behind his words, her voice tinged with unease, "What do you mean 'so that's how it is'? Did you already guess that I wasn't serious about breaking up?"

"The love in your eyes for me is so evident that it's hard to ignore!" Leo raised an eyebrow, speaking with utmost confidence.

Sunny's face turned bright red instantly. She shyly lowered her head. "Is that so? The information reflected in my eyes is really that?"

"Or what?" Leo raised an eyebrow, then his lips brushed against her ear, "Your reactions have already showed the answer."

Sunny felt even more embarrassed. She pushed Leo away and stood up hurriedly, "Didn't you say you were going to take me out to eat? Let's go, I'm hungry!"

Seeing her embarrassment, Leo finally stood up, straightening his collar, "It's cold outside. Wear more clothes."

Sunny didn't expect him to be so considerate. Her face turned red again as she turned back to the bedroom to grab a coat.

"Let's go!" Leo reached out once more, but this time, instead of holding her wrist, he interlaced his fingers with hers.

It wasn't until they sat in Leo's car that Sunny seemed to fully come to her senses. She began to be confused about what kind of feelings Leo had for her.

Was he more angry or more in love with her? Did he hate her or like her? Sunny had always been straightforward in matters of the heart and wasn't good at navigating complex emotions. Now, she was thoroughly bewildered by Leo's mercurial nature.

She could only sit cautiously beside him, but inside, she was delighted. At least, she was with him again.

Leo steadily controlled the steering wheel. His young and handsome profile flickered in the light and shadow, sometimes sharp, sometimes hazy, but always stunningly beautiful.

Sunny's hands tightly gripped the seatbelt, her beautiful eyes fixed on the road ahead, her heart filled with uncertainty.

"Did you really break up with me in front of the reporters just for the sake of publicity?" Sunny suddenly spoke, breaking the silence in the car.

Leo pursed his thin lips, then replied, "No, I really wanted to break up with you at that time."

The last glimmer of hope in Sunny's heart was extinguished by his words, and her expression froze.

Suddenly, she didn't know what to say next.

Leo still wasn't good at making small talk. One sentence from him could kill the conversation.

Seeing that she had fallen silent, Leo's lips curled into a faint smile, "That night, I regretted it. I felt that my decision was too impulsive."

Sunny's eyes widened, staring at him in astonishment, unsure whether to feel happy or worried.

"Really?" Sunny murmured softly, lacking confidence.

Leo pointed to the band-aids on his face, "These are the evidence!"

Sunny blinked her eyes, "How did you get hurt? What happened?"

Leo nonchalantly said, "I got into a fight and was scratched."

Sunny was incredulous upon hearing that he had been in a fight. In her eyes, Leo was always refined and elegant. The idea of him getting into a physical altercation seemed impossible.

"Why did you fight? What happened?" Sunny now focused on the injuries on his face. Although the band-aids concealed the extent of the wounds, the fact that there were four or five of them indicated that he had been hurt quite a bit.
