Gaia spoke softly to those surrounding Lucifer and the girls, “Take them home and watch over them.” Looking at Nathan, she instructed, “Have patience, son of Zeus, all is not lost yet.” Turning to the rest she informed them, “With your guidance the future meant for them may still happen. It will mostly depend on them and if they wish to continue on this journey. I can do no more. I will check on them and their chosen keeper of their souls. When it is safe I will join Katia and Aza once more.”

Dalia asked Gaia, “Where is home? In our realm or yours?”

“Child, you all know them best. Where you think their hearts lie is where home will be for them.” She caressed Dalia's cheek and smiled. “No this children of the Snow Moon pack, your parents love you more than their own life and would be proud of you both. Yes, even you Nathan with two fathers.”

Once she imparted that information to Nathan and Dalia she kissed her children and told the big blonde wolf, “Zor, my big sweet boy, it is time for you to fulfill your destiny. You can visit me whenever you like. You know the path. Do not fear, your next human will be nothing like the last.” She kissed Zor on his head and patted him. The next moment she was gone.

Theia whispered, “Thank you, mother.” To everyone else, she said, “She is not always that agreeable.”

Rhea interjected, “Sister, I think it will be different now. Father is no longer able to make her life miserable or threaten us.” Rhea walked over to Cronos and Evelynn she smiled at them and said, “Cronos, I set you free from your promise to me. Go live your life and love the one you're supposed to love. Hopefully, the prophecy set forth for you will change if you know true love. Rule wise in father’s place.” With those words, Rhea shimmered from sight.

Kane, Talon, Mark, Amara, and Kelp, were all waiting to see what their next move would be. Mark and Kelp wanted desperately to be near their little ghost but did not know if Alpha Nathan’s tolerance of so many males near his mate would last, especially with Lucifer holding onto her soul.

Nathan questioned Lucifer calmly, “Can you speak with them?”

Lucifer groaned with frustration, “I am trying, but they do not respond. I can feel them getting weaker and I am afraid they will slip away.”

Hyperion rested a hand on Lucifer’s shoulder “Luc keep talking to all four of them. Remind them of their love for each other, of those who are here that love them and want them to come back.”

Kane reminded Lucifer of something important to both goddesses, “Tell them to remember the reason for the Moon Touched pack.”

The blonde wolf walked around Lucifer and nudged Nathan out of the way. He laid his head on top of Aza’s and closed his eyes. After a few minutes, he did the same with the twins. He whined quietly and Dalia thought she saw tears glistening in his eyes. She wondered once more who the wolf was to her sister-in-law. Whoever he was, he cared for Katia and was back in his protective stance.

Kane addressed the issue no one wanted to ask about, “Where do we take them?”

Lucifer looked with red eyes at all of them and quietly said, “We take them to Moon Touched. The earthly realm is where both preferred to be until Uranus gave Katia her island paradise. I am afraid to keep them here. What if Uranus‘ magic is still working on them and keeping them in the state they are?”

Nathan couldn’t help the growl that rumbled through his chest at the suggestion his mate be kept a Moon Touched and away from him. He quickly got his wolf under control and nodded to the big blonde wolf, that Gaia had called Zor, to let him know his wolf was calmed. Mark and Kelp gave him a sympathizing look and started making plans for where the two goddesses would be housed. Who would protect them and who would care for them until they awakened? Mark excused himself to contact his pack and find out the damage from the battle they had fought in their absence. He needed to know what they would need to prepare for when they returned and how his pack mates were. Mark noticed that Nathan was doing the same as everyone else and was gathering what belonged to Katia and Aza to take back with them. Lucifer seemed to be afraid to move. He just continued to sit holding onto the bodies that belonged to the soul he carried inside of him. It was like thought if he moved something would happen and he would lose them.

Once Nathan and Mark finished speaking with Chip and Bob, they talked with each other about the condition of their packs. Luckily, both packs did not lose many lives. and the land or buildings were not damaged too severely. They would be able to rebuild quickly. Nathan hoped that Alpha Lorn and all the others worldwide were just as lucky. He would not know for sure until they returned to the other realm. Mark wanted to reassure Nathan about Katia so he discreetly told him, “Nathan, I swear we will take care of our Alpha Luna as we always do. She is our light too and you know you are welcome anytime you wish. I will not keep her from you while she is fighting to come back to us.”

Nathan nodded his thanks and the two men returned to the others. Hyperion took the lead then with the orders, “Let’s get my girls to the Moon Touched pack and find out the damage to the earth realm.” Nathan took Katia from Lucifer, Kane scooped up Aza, and Lucifer continued to hold Selene, all stood in a group as the gods did their thing and shimmered them home. Once they stood in the forest bordering the two packs, Evelynn huffed, “You all make that look so easy!”

Two warriors appeared from behind the trees, “Alphas hurry we are not sure if the enemy still lurks out here. We have not seen any for a day now but the acting Alphas told us to remain vigilant.” The group gathered closer and moved silently through the forest to Moon Touched lands. The two warriors are in front and Hyperion and Cronos bring up the rear. As they traveled they noticed scorched areas and a black tar-like substance here and there. The smell was horrible coming from the black tar and the charred areas. The smell was an indication that some of the wildlife had been caught in the crossfire. Nathan thought about how Katia would be hurt knowing her forest friends suffered. His mate could not stand to see anything or one suffer, especially if it was preventable.

Kane could see by the look on Nathan’s face what he was thinking about and commented, “She knows. I do not know how I know this but I know she can see the destruction her grandfather caused here.”

“Thankfully Gaia finally stopped him before he was able to unleash the pure hatred he felt for us.” Nathan whispered, “I am just sorry we were not here to help defend our packs like we should have been.”

As they approached the gates, they could see Bob, and some of the other pack members heading to meet them. Opening the gates, Bob reached out to his Alpha and embraced him while greeting him, “Welcome home Alpha and Gamma. I am happy to see you all alive and well.” Looking at the men carrying the still forms of two women and a wolf he summarized, “I see all did not go well.”

Mark responded first, “No Bob, it didn’t. Our Apha Luna, her wolf, and her sister were killed. Lucifer was able to grab their souls for safe keeping but they are not fighting to live.”

Kane asked politely, “Is the packhouse in one piece and livable? We can discuss the happening of the last few days once we are all inside and safe.”

Bob quickened his step and responded, “Follow me, the packhouse was barely damaged and the ranking wolves' floor were not touched at all. We can put the poor goddesses in one of the rooms on that floor. I assume they will stay in the same room?”

Kane replied, “Yes, they stay together. The wolf goes on the same bed as Katia.” Bob looked confused and Kane realized Bob did not know which woman was which, “The girl Alpha Nathan is carrying.” Bob nodded and opened a door to one of the bedroom suites. He stood back as they all filed into the room. He was glad he chose one of the suites instead of a smaller room. If all of these people, or gods, or whatever they were he thought looking at Lucifer, were going to stay they were going to need the room.

The one called Lucifer gently lay the girl he was carrying down on the big bed and then Alpha Nathan did the same with his mate. Gamma Kane laid the wolf down last. He put her between the two girls and laid her head on Katia. He put Katia’s right hand on the wolf’s head and her left hand on her sister’s right hand. He had made it so they were touching one another and knew they were together. The tall woman with Kane offered, “Why don’t you all go get cleaned up and something to eat? Amara and I will stay with them until someone returns.”

Kane and Alpha Mark started to protest when the smaller woman next to the Alpha spoke, “Do not even start your caveman tactics with us. We will not starve in the amount of time you shower and grab food. Especially since you will not be able to resist your instincts to care for your mates and bring us food with yours.” Bob chuckled as both men backed down immediately. Everyone left to do as suggested Bob helped the two ladies get the twin goddesses settled and hopefully comfortable. He discovered that his two new friends were Talon and her sister Amara. They were the last of the white wolves and mated to Kane and Mark.

As he was leaving he gave instructions, “If you ladies need anything just let me know. I have to make ready for the Starlight pack to arrive. Alpha Lorn and his pack have some sort of urgent news.”

Talon called out to him as he was shutting the door, “Um, Bob, you may have wanted to impart that news to the Alphas now that they are home.”
