Chapter 685 - 0682 vigorous

"Mr. Lynch, I’ve heard that Darkstone Security has been rapidly expanding and acquiring numerous contracts overseas. We could forge quite a collaboration in this sector."

"The most advanced weapons, at the best prices, from a single bullet to an armored vehicle, I can assure you the prices are the most favorable!"

Orn spoke frankly. He had researched Lynch, this young man, beforehand and knew how to communicate with him.

Now, within the Federation, some people are already viewing Lynch as one of the more renowned figures of the "new generation of capitalists" and even as a representative of this group.

However, people’s opinions of Lynch are not as "negative" as they are for others.

The rising capitalist entities, starting with manufacturing, are always challenging the middle-aged and the oldest capitalist groups, leading to irreconcilable conflicts— the market is only so big, and the only way to gain more profit is to increase one’s sources of income while reducing those of competitors.

With the advancements of the era and society, the new generation of capitalists holds no reverence for those past capitalist groups. From their involvement in various industries, it’s evident they are more ruthless and irrationally aggressive than previous capital groups.

Lynch, however, is different. His core industries are abroad, avoiding the most direct conflicts, which is why both Orn and Mr. Wardrick, as well as others, have a somewhat different attitude toward him.

As for Lynch’s anti-submarine aircraft plan and his new company?

No one sees it as a threat. One must realize that aircrafts have existed for many years, yet military enterprises have basically not continued to massively invest in this field in recent years. At least, until there’s a technological breakthrough, they don’t plan any large-scale investments.

This might be hard to understand, but it’s the truth.

Flying aircraft in the air isn’t really a problem. Any enterprise investing in aircrafts can ensure stable flight in the air.

But no company dares to claim absolute safety on takeoff and landing, especially landing.

Nine out of ten times, there are bound to be incidents, large or small. It can essentially be said that every landing represents a potential flying disaster and accident.

Someone once considered building a one-time use aircraft, but that ultimately made no progress, leading most companies to reduce their investments in aircraft and focus more on the Army and Navy.

After all, these investments yield visible, tangible profits, and as for aircraft, perhaps they’d reinvest after overcoming certain technological gates.

Currently, aside from some opportunists, only the civilian aircraft scientists are still researching aircraft.

Since Lynch’s investment in this Black Hole project doesn’t directly conflict with other groups’ interests, this means everyone can be friends!

Lynch pondered briefly, "I support your plan in principle, but the specifics need further discussion."

Orn laughed heartily, "I knew you would understand our intentions. We’ll discuss the details later in the meeting. Thank you for your support of our ideas!"

"We’ll chat more in the meeting later..."

After a handshake, they parted. Lynch watched as Orn found another guy to chat with, and suddenly he realized this matter might not be as simple as he imagined.

...

"I disagree with this plan!"

In the meeting later, a young man with a cold demeanor directly opposed the plan proposed by the Ministry of Defense representative. As Lynch looked at him, someone beside him, whom he didn’t recognize, introduced the young man.

"This young man is Chairman Jeruno’s grandson..."

Lynch glanced at the gentleman who explained beside him, exchanged introductions, and swapped business cards.

Such are the privileges of having status; you don’t need to ask others for favors, as these individuals will actively help you with issues you don’t even find troublesome.

Of course, necessary gratitude is still required, as after all, Mr. Lin is a man of principles.

"If a large number of weapons flow into Nagariel, we cannot ensure they’re all in safe hands. If these weapons leak out, it might pose a great threat!"

The young man’s words resonated with many. Nagariel itself can’t be considered a safe place, at least not now. It has already become unsafe.

The clash between local decaying ideologies and incoming advanced ideologies, cultural clashes, and societal transformations place the country in an invisible turmoil.

It’s not the social form that’s turbulent; it’s people’s hearts.

People lost their awe of the world amid confusion. Some storming the Royal Palace clearly indicates that certain things are deteriorating.

If these mobs got hold of weapons that could easily take lives, it would be bad news for the United Development Company.

Before a bullet, there is no difference between a CEO and a commoner!

Orn calmly stated, "We won’t sell weapons to any illegal organizations or individuals. Moreover, I believe our collaboration with the Ministry of Defense and the Military ensures our weapons don’t leak out."

"All transactions will be completed domestically; I hope you understand what I mean!"

Orn no longer had the casual demeanor he had when meeting Lynch; instead, he exhibited a senior figure’s calm and composure.

The Ministry of Defense representative then continued, "Our soldiers dispatched abroad will complete all equipment and system establishment before departure, with strict registration to ensure every bullet, gun, and cannonball is clearly accounted for."

"At what time, given to whom, if there are issues, we can quickly identify and resolve them. Moreover, I hope you can understand that this plan is not for certain individuals but for all of us."

The Ministry of Defense representative distributed a document to everyone; after everyone received it, he began explaining the plan, "Our personnel will, to some extent, completely replace Nagariel’s own Defense Army, which, in fact, is beneficial rather than detrimental to everyone here."

"In a sense, it’s equivalent to us controlling this nation’s largest violent institution, enabling military operations, armed suppression, or support to be executed without local rulers’ consent when necessary."

"Given such convenience, I believe even if our work experiences some accidents, some weapons falling into locals’ hands are acceptable."

He paused slightly and then added, "Additionally, I hope today’s meeting contents won’t be leaked in any form..."

Everyone was silent about this point. Such a meeting, almost akin to plotting to usurp certain aspects of another country, is the greatest blasphemy and insult to the Federation’s spirit of liberty and equality!

The Federation could never engage in such acts, so the meeting’s contents wouldn’t be leaked unless someone wanted to become an enemy of all.

The young man from the Duncan Clan pursed his lips; the proposition was tempting, but he had further thoughts, "If you want me to agree, then my people must be arranged on my terms."

His words were somewhat vague, meaning he wanted to use his people to replace the local Province’s military force rather than the Military’s dispatched soldiers.

The Ministry of Defense representative responded immediately, "All armed forces are deployed with consent. We can arrange for your people in significant positions, but this is the bottom line."

"We must ensure this force isn’t exploited by certain individuals or between your forces and local influences or between you."

The young man from the Duncan Clan frowned, threatening slightly with, "If my people are not used, the local rulers might not allow the Federation to take over their military institutions!"

The room filled with murmurs, and Lynch was deep in thought.

Drag wouldn’t easily agree to let the Federation dispatch troops to "protect" him. With the royal collapse ending the central and local "ideological struggle," the royal power declined significantly, and Drag’s clan began to seize local military power.

He likely wouldn’t easily agree to the Federation’s demands, even if the Federation presents it as "military aid."

The Ministry of Defense representative smirked and said, "They’re not the only option!"

The discussion intensified, undoubtedly, the Ministry of Defense representative’s stance was unexpected.

What does "they’re not the only option" even mean?

The phrase is quite straightforward. If someone disagrees, replace them!

Such a Ministry of Defense instills a curious feeling, almost like they recently persuaded everyone to hide, citing "nobody can be beaten."

In a blink, they began to show aggressive stances, still citing "nobody can be beaten."

This change gives a fresh feeling, yet one must admit, this change fuels the capitalists’ ambition.

After a brief discussion, the room fell silent.

Then someone suddenly asked, "Someone will always disagree; you can’t replace everyone."

The Ministry of Defense representative immediately answered, "According to information obtained from certain channels, they may erupt in a quickly-ending civil war, resolving all issues then."

His attitude largely reflects the Ministry of Defense’s and the Military’s stance, driven by many interest groups behind the scenes.

When everyone’s efforts align, miracles occur.
