Chapter 1095 - 1093: Guess, Guess, Guess Again

Chapter 1095 - 1093: Guess, Guess, Guess Again

Fiasde is a Nagariel name, a noble name.

As Lynch’s father, Nell’s child naturally didn’t need to follow Nagariel customs by having a commoner’s name without even a surname.

His child could be called anything, really, and a Federation name might be better, as it showcases his unique identity—a mixed heritage, a blend of local and Federation.

Such people now and in the foreseeable future will receive certain social benefits that ordinary people cannot.

At least during the continued existence of the United Development Company, before the Federation’s control over the New Federation weakens to the point of no interference in local commerce—

By the way, Bail Federal sternly declares: We never interfere in the domestic affairs of any country. We only protect our merchants’ legal rights and safety!

With so many advantages, perhaps giving the boy a Federation name is a good suggestion.

But Nell didn’t do that. He gave the child a local name. In the local religious myths, Fiasde is the name of a demigod who killed the Evil God and consumed its blood and flesh, becoming a demigod.

Actually, locals, even the privileged class, won’t easily let their children have the same name as a figure in mythology. To them, it’s a blasphemy against the gods.

But Nell didn’t care about this. He liked the name, just like how some people in the Federation have the same name as the embodiment of the Lord walking the human world, lacking reverence for the divine.

Even though, in some respects, they are steadfast and devout believers.

Looking at the little baby in the girl’s arms, Lynch showed little emotion. The complexion was darker than Federation people, looking somewhat dirty.

Perhaps due to his complexion, he didn’t like it.

"Would you like to hold him?", Nell glanced at his youngest wife, who looked worried as she cradled the baby and approached Lynch, seemingly concerned whether Lynch could take care of the child.

Lynch looked at the little one, shook his head, "No, I lack experience, might hurt him."

Nell found it a bit regrettable but didn’t insist, "Then let it be."

Perhaps the baby sensed something, or perhaps simply awoke, as he began to cry. Nell’s young wife quickly cradled him, returned to a nearby chair, and pulled open her bodice to reveal the portable food.

Lynch glanced briefly and then withdrew his gaze; there wasn’t much to look at. He had seen various types before.

The baby’s cries quickly subsided, and Lynch refocused on Nell, "This time I plan to push agricultural development here. We need manpower for large-scale land reclamation and planting crops outdoors."

Nell contemplated for a while and could now think like a businessman and even did quite well in some aspects.

After more than ten seconds, he said, "I’ll have to call Asir; he might provide some help."

"Although I’ve been here for two years, I don’t know enough about some matters."

Soon, Asir arrived, and Nell’s young wife left with the child.

Nell repeated Lynch’s words, and Asir nodded without hesitation, "No problem with that, currently there are lots of surplus labor in Nagariel we can use."

"However, locals are not good at farming; we need to recruit agricultural experts from elsewhere, like the Federation..."

He then explained why it was so.

Nagariel seems ignorant, foolish, and backward, probably an agricultural society, but it’s not actually.

The abundant products here meant people didn’t need to proactively engage in farming to get food, so naturally, they wouldn’t care for crops specifically.

Except for some economic crops like spices which have value making people willing to invest money in cultivating them to make profits.

So, various economic crops have people to plant them, but as for food crops, though they could be planted more, they weren’t being planted.

They don’t know how to solve pest and disease issues, nor how to resolve problems when they occur, which requires expert help.

Soon, some matters were roughly decided, with Mengwu Province expanding towards the prairie, developing large tracts of farmland.

This requires new Legislator Gadon’s cooperation, using both United Development Company and the Provincial Governor’s joint authority, which offers more advantages than separate promotion.

When addressing some detailed issues, Asir expressed a desire to treat Lynch to a meal, because he had a baby.

Asir has no children in the Federation. He stayed there marrying a girl who likely weighed two or three times his body weight.

The girl was so heavy that her fallopian tubes were completely closed, so they’ve never had children.

Asir never spoke of it, but in truth, he really wanted a child, which is the tradition of Nagariel people—having more children is the tradition.

After returning, he cut ties with the Federation. Initially, he thought of going back, but as Nagariel developed better, his status grew higher and wealth increased, so he didn’t want to return.

Plus, his sister-in-law became pregnant with his child, so there’s no way he could leave.

This is also a traditional practice in Nagariel; sometimes in a family with many unmarried men, unable to support each marrying a wife, they arrange for them to share one.

Asir’s situation isn’t like that; it was merely a misunderstanding, where he brought Federation customs back, mistakenly led to believe by his brother and father that his sister-in-law was seducing him.

They then tossed his sister-in-law into his bed—after all, they were all family, it didn’t matter.

This way, his brother married another, and he got his sister-in-law pregnant—now his wife, which, to locals, was quite straightforward.

"That’s certainly worthy of a toast. Have you considered sending him to the Federation?"

Lynch agreed to Asir’s meal invitation and also learned it was another boy.

Asir shook his head, "The Federation might stir resentment in him, but here is home, besides..."

"Mr. Nell’s child was just born; I mean, I hope they can grow up together."

"So he’d contribute to Mr. Nell, his family, and his child in the future."

Asir displayed loyalty, "You elevated me, Mr. Lynch, so I, my child, his child, and all descendants should appreciate this favor and work for you, for Mr. Nell!"

After listening, Lynch smiled and pointed at him, "You’re clever, Asir, you’ve become less honest!"

Lynch’s tone carried no doubt, no anger, which relieved Asir.

"Wise as you are, I knew nothing could escape your perception, Mr. Lynch!"

Lynch pondered, "I have no issues with this, you go discuss with Nell privately, you need his opinion."

Asir’s notion was to make his child a servant to Nell’s, one of those brought up together.

In this process, they can form a bond stronger than employer-employee and engender deeper trust.

Like some major nobles in Gafura, the old butler in the noble families holds a status second only to the Patriarch—of course, they cannot administer any punishment or harm to the family’s bloodline, that’s a forbidden point.

Asir understood he could remain wealthy his entire life, but he wasn’t certain if his children, grandchildren could achieve the same.

Once a person solves basic needs like sufficient food, clothing, enough wealth, and status, they begin considering future matters like Asir now.

He must think of his descendants, thus binding with Mr. Lynch is evidently the best choice, but he dared not speak too directly, targeting Lynch from the start, so he opted for an indirect approach.

If his child gets along well with Nell’s child, later when Lynch has children, he can bring up this matter.

Only this way, can his family prosper generation after generation.

Furthermore, he firmly believed, his children, his grandchildren would comprehend the value and significance of his actions.

The evening meal occurred at a local upscale restaurant; Gadon also attended, some matters requiring him to know.

With Nagariel’s reforms and transformations, not only did the streets become clean, but even restaurants gained a touch of regulatory character.

The kitchen was in a glass room, together with the restaurant, allowing every diner to glance at kitchen happenings.

It was done to assure diners about their food, at least they understood how food transitioned from ingredients to dishes, emboldening them to consume.

"What’s... this?"

Although Lynch occasionally turned his head to see the pristine kitchen and chefs, he was clueless regarding the dish in front of him.

It was a, roughly fifteen-centimeter diameter, flat round thick cut, with two holes in the middle, firm and light-colored, which he poked with a fork, unlike beef.

Strangely, there were two small holes on top, inside were two fresh egg yolks.

Honestly, he was entirely baffled at what the hell it was, simply looked somewhat revolting.

Nell, engaged in conversation with Asir, glanced casually, uttered, "Elephant trunk, tastes quite nice."

Lynch: ...

He fell silent briefly, then looking at another plate, laid with thin slices almost transparent, slightly pink, delicately textured raw cuts, again couldn’t help asking, "And this one?"

Nell chuckled, scratched his crotch, seemingly everything was contained in that meaningful smile.
